Might get a Hookah

Alright well i was thinking of getting a hookah for my bong to have a best friend :) haha anyways before i get one i have a few questions about hookah/shisha.

1. Are hookahs alright for smoking weed?

2. How harmful is shisha compared to cigs(im not a smoker and dont plan to smoke those yucky cigs)

3. I know theres tobacco and nicotine in shisha but some brands dont have that in their shisha like http://www.soex.com/herbalmolasses.html would it be worth getting this kind or just regular?
 
Buy online, most stores will rip you off. Mya is definitely one of the most consistent and respected brands.

Al Fakher is a really juicy, flavorful, well-burning shisha, I recommend guava, vanilla, and cinnamon, but most are good. Cinnamon mixed with vanilla tastes like Cinnabon.

You can certainly smoke weed out of the hookah, though I'd probably reserve my dro for the bong. Finely grind your mids and mix them with a really juicy shisha like Al Fakher. Guava and mint, IMO, are the best flavors for "salad bowls."

A bowl of shisha has the same amount of tar and nicotine as 2.5 cigarettes. So is it good for you? No, but it's not like your bud doesn't have tar either. Also, it's going to take a while to smoke a well-packed bowl of shisha, and you wouldn't typically do that by yourself.
 
I've never smoked weed from a hookah, but friends have said that it burns too quickly. I've never tried the herbal shishas, but I imagine if you're still inhaling smoke then it can't be that much better for you.

hookahs are a nice thing to own if you're into smoking. Hope you find a good one.
 
Weed from a hookah is a HUGE waste. Remember, you are using coals for heat, not flame.

Keep the shisha for the hookah, the trees for the bong.
 
ya personally I wouldn't smoke weed out of a hookah either. But they're cool on their own. My friend owns a real nice "gold" mya that we smoke out of pretty often. good stuff

oh ya also lemon (no clue what brand) is by far my favorite flavor
 
Ive personally smoked weed in a hookah and it burns way too fast and is real hard on the throat. But mixing it with tobacco for hookah worked pretty good. Couldnt really tell if it was gettin me high though...
 
Yes, hashish is the only thing that should be smoked with Shisha. However smoking shisha is a big investment healthwise and money wise, and don't be fooled by the placebo that it is healthier than cigarettes, it's just as bad. Plus they make you real lazy.
 
I have a question about "hookahs" are those things that are just like a bong and with hoses still considered a hookah though it doesnt have the coals and whatever, and are THEY efficient for smoking weed? not looking for as lets say a pipe efficiency but as much as it wouldnt be a waste?
 
i love smoking out of my hookah... just grind up however much bud you want, mix it in with your favorite flavor of shisha, and then light up the coals. however, as already stated, don't try and smoke without mixing it or it will be a big waste. smoking out of a hookah i think is a really great way to smoke, you get your weed high going and then you also get a very relaxing tobacco buzz. it may not be the healthiest but i recommend it.

1. It works well to mix in a 1:3 ratio of herb-shisha. For pure bowls I haven't tried I heard it works, but takes a good eighth to work well. I'd imagine shake would be the shit.

2. Depends on brands usually it has the tar and nicotine level on it. 5% or 0.5% (don't remember which) tar in it and 0% nicotine is what I usually see.

3. Wouldn't be bad to try if available.
 
I wouldn't get a hookar, appearently smoking weed out of them ruins it, you're supposed to heat up this coal, and place it on hookah tobacco which smells REALLY good, but shit takes far too long for it to be enjoyable, my friend got one, we tried to smoke it, but got sick of waiting so we threw weed in there, it's VERY hard to clean it, so resin build up from weed ruins it.
 
A hookah has to have the coal burning thing to be considered a hookah. A "hookah" that just has a bowl on it is just a bong with hoses attached. I would go for the latter as they are suited for weed.
 
I agree with those above that say that it is a waste to smoke good weed from the hookah, hash is good to mix with the shisha but can get expensive. hookahs are nice for thier own sake and are great for certain occasions but if you are a regular danker then stick with the bong, one thing i like to do is make alittle BHO then put alittle green at the bottom of the bowl then add alittle pipe tobacco (dublin is my kind, smooth and sweet) and then a good drop of oil and you are all set i use this with my bong and one fat rip will put u on ur ass, u immediatly feel the tobacco and that soon and slowly blends into a great oil high
 
Like others have said smoking pure weed from a hooka is just a waste.

I have mixed weed with shisa before and I must say that it is not for me It didn't really get me that high or buzzed but it did give me a mild buzz/high that was just really unpleasant in my opinion. The others that smoked with me are usually fun going people that are great to smoke with but we all just kind of sat there... I think all of us just were not really enjoying it. At the end of the night we decided it was a waste and the next day we smoked some bud from the same bag and had a great time.
 
So...
I don't smoke weed, but have a hooka...
And was looking online (yeah... why not =P) and saw a bunch of modification things...
Like putting a spacer ring between the coals and the foil over the bowl...

Any thoughts on that?
If the weed "burns too quickly" that should help slow it down...
I just cut up a pepsi can and used it as a spacer - as for hooka smoke - it's a lot thinner than normal, but it isn't getting harsh - the stuff isn't "burning" like it does when you don't move the coals around fast enough...

Now it really is working as a vaporizer - and for that, I'm thinking it'd be better for pot...

You probably won't see smoke, but you should be able to taste it - maybe a little vapor (really thin, clearish looking compared to the smoke you're used to...)

Anyone have some cheep stuff they wanna give it a shot with? ;)
 
I don't like smoking dope from a hookah much, bongs are WAAAAAAAAAY better. I never used any coals or any shit, just packed the cone and lit it, the smoke doesn't go straight into your lungs like with a bong so you have to puff it with a joint and take repeated puffs to get a good hit.

They aren't terrible if you are just a casual smoker I suppose, especially the 'party bong' ones with several hoses are fun on the odd occasion, if you own a bong as well I guarantee the novelty of a hookah will wear off quickly and after that it will seldom be used, if ever.
