Hey what's up, TouchN' Stuff Boulevard is my name

I Have a quarter o of some mids, reasonably potent, but dull to smoke. My question is, what is the best thing I can make with it?

I have made cookies a few times which is always fine, but I was wondering if it would be worth making some hash with it for something different (Hash is super rare in my area.) I have heard you can put weed in the blender with water and ice and then let the mixture settle in the fridge, and the trichomes settle to the bottom. THIS ALMOST SOUNDS TOO SIMPLE, would this method be a waste of weed? Is there another low cost way to make hash you would recommend, or with this amount should I just make butter? Opinions wanted

That sounds very unlikely, as I really doubt THC will even leave the leaves of the plant, look up quick iso wash hash.

the method you describe is an oversimplified version of water extraction hash and is of low grade and maybe mediocre quality on its best day.
if you green is ok and is some decent mids then just get some good butane, a stainless steel turkey baster, some unbleached coffee filters, pyrex pie dish, zip ties. and razor blades.

use the BHO method/tek on tokecity.com (search for hashmasta kuts tek
also a QWISO method might be something to look into cuz if the bud is really mediocre then i'd say it isnt worth buying expensive butane and might as well go with the ISO method (P.S. you can also find the QWISO tek at tokecity.com (search for Ninja's tek)

Brownies Bro.

Here's a good recipe that I always have used

I always use dank with this recipe, but I guess with your case use 6 grams:

1.) Grind up 4.5 grams of high quality bud

2.) Pour a half cup of veggie oil into a pan.

3.) Heat on medium to low for 2 minutes.

4.) Dump finely ground up bud into the oil.

5.) Constantly stir the oil and bud mixture for 25-30 minutes.

6.) Once the bud turns brown and the oil turns dark brown/black the oil is done.

7.) Strain the oil and bud mixture to make sure there are not bits of bud in the oil.

Then you just follow the recipe on the back of the box, throw into the oven and here is what you get...

Doesnt the Vodka and Mids thing work where u let the weed sit in Vodka mix and drink it the next day? its supposed to draw the THC out or something like that. am i right?

Ya Chigger ive heard it called green dragon or potka. Takes a little longer than 1 day though. I don't know the exact recipe but I'm pretty just you want to let it sit for at least a few weeks/months.

^^ well there are teks that work in one day but you gotta heat the green before mixin in alcohol and that is how it works in a day. green dragon is a good idea for mids as is QWISO or edibles as Big Stroonz was kind enough to show us

Depends what you like. I've only eaten stuff made with cannabis butter once, but it felt more "therapeutic" than recreational.

I think if you're set on not smoking them as they are, I'd go with either the QWISO or Butane hash methods. You might want to save at least a gram of the bud, though, so you can use it as kindling for the hash.

6.) Once the bud turns brown and the oil turns dark brown/black the oil is done.
Eeek.

when first learning to cook butter as an adolescent i had to execute this method but my friends & i were left unsatisfied. It disturbed me to see the nice green buds turn brown to black in the pan & the oil's dirtyness, i was turned off big time.

Little did i know at the time that sizzling sound was most likely my goodness escaping after having the pan on medium/low heat for a few minutes. It passed 340f and a little later on a smoke cloud rose from the pan which i should have inhaled. >.<

So after that "learning experience" i was taught the water method(ty guy) and never looked back.

The below method quoted suspends the fat/butter in water which(luckily for us) has a BP that wont surpass THxx' vapor point. If you wonder over that 340f degrees(some say 350f+) mark(vapor point) anywhere along the line you'll loose most if not all of your magic and end up dosing light or worse, placebo. Oil does boil but hits what is called the smoke point first.

Below are listed smoke point temperatures of basic house hold cooking oils which all seem to surpass thc's vape point. So if u dont have a fridge(access to cold) and water you cant do this method then that may be worth a try.

Read this one & then try it out. There's a slim chance you'll return or resort to sauteing oil.
you will need:

1. a pot
2. buds
3.butter
4.water
& perhaps a wonton soup container or cup of sorts when your done to let the brew cool in.
He puts the grass in and boils it. (Of course, he separates all the seeds first so he can plant them in the nearby park.) Now all the grass is riling around with the water and butter, and get this: The cannabinoids dissolve into the butter, while most of the nasty flavors and gook dissolve into the water. He stirs the stuff regularly. After cooking the grass like this for a while (say, half an hour), his kitchen really smells incriminating. He strains out the spent plant matter, squeezes all the juice out of it, and puts the liquid in the fridge.

A few hours later, the mixture is cool enough that the cannabutter has solidified on the surface. It looks neon green but its just enchanted butter. He scoops it out and retains it in a bowl or a jar. The grass-nasty water is thrown out.

The cannabutter can be used just like butter, in brownies, on garlic bread, or mixed with honey on your finger!

Although this method takes longer than the usual saute-n-strain method, it has several advantages:

* As explained above, the nasty shit is separated and removed from the fun shit.
* You can make stronger cannabutter than by saute-ing, because you can cook more grass in the same amount of butter, due to the extra volume of the water.
* There is no danger of burning the precious, price-inflated, hard and dangerous to obtain herb, as there is when you saute, because the water keeps the whole mixture at boiling temperature!
yah! Now you can butterize your morning pancakes, toast, french toast waffles etc.

Safflower - 510 F (266 C)
Soybean - 495 F (257 C)
Corn - 475 F (246 C)
Peanut - 440 F (227 C)
Sesame - 420 F (216 C)
Olive - 375 F (191 C)

The boiling point estimates that I’ve found are pretty sketchy, but a fair estimate for soybean oil (most cheap cooking oil is soybean oil) is about 300 C (or 572 F).

the above is most economical, efficient & effective. Buds are best for those of you who can swing it but you sure can implement this method with stems and fans(after buubbbling them of course) and not be disappointed. A personal favorite about this method is the fact seven g can be turned into one tbsp of butter(one brownie, pan cake etc.). 1g average/regs per tbsp of butter used for normal people & 2+ g's of exotics those katz holdin down.

Enjoy!

(above method was a repost, i do not take credit for it in any way shape or form)

I really want to try this next time I pick up a half o, does it stink your kitchen up real bad? If so would turning the AC on and leaving a door open make it go away..?

I like Green Dragon. Instead of everclear or any conventional high-proof liquor, buy flavoring extracts. You can find them in most supermarkets. They are tastier and 70% alcohol, so they work fairly well. For a quarter, I think 3-4 bottles (they are like 1 oz each) I used orange extract so my Green Dragon was citrus-y and delicious. Here's the process I used:
1. Decarboxylate the cannabis in an oven at about 200 F for ~20-30 min. (the necessity to decarboxylate is debated, but I figure better safe than sorry)
2. Mix the bud with the extract in a container
3. Cover top tightly with plastic wrap (this is for safety reasons so alcohol fumes do not reach the burner and to keep all the goodness in the container)
4. Use a double boiler set up (boil water and put the container in or slightly above the water so the water heats the container and not the direct heat) for ~20 min
5. Strain out bud
6. Get high

It's fairly potent and quicker and easier than baking

Thanks for the replies guys! After all that I decided to make neither hash nor butter, I made milk (bhang.) Pretty effective, split it with a friend and after about an hour come up we spent a good two hours unable (or at least very reluctant) to move :) Very "stoney," more than I remember from the butter. I made it with whole milk, similar method to making butter.

Thanks for the suggestions though! Im always open to new things, so keep em coming. Next time I consume it I will have try try the brownie recipe involving oil!

um.. When you heat milk doesnt it tend to curdle making something like cheese when all is done.

bhang is made from the spent plant material at the end of cooking butter. That shit always grosses me out cause the milk takes on a phunk after being heated.

To start your day try Spreading a small piece of marijuana flavored green butter(or oil) onto toast. The onset is much faster, felt inside 30minutes.

HMMM. It was not the most pleasant thing I have drank, I admit i prob would not do again :)
I broke up about 4.5 grams of weed, then chopped it until it was powder(ish) crumbs.
Put in whole milk with a piece of cinnamon and a few caraway seeds so it was just bubbling barley and stirred 40 minutes.
Strained through stocking. Repeatedly squeezed weed mush to get all the milk out, Eventually the mush became like 1/5th of the original size. Then I boiled the gush in water, strained, and added the milky water to thin the milk.

The butter sounds more appealing
