Questions a lá "I found compound XYZ. Who knows it?" are pointless crap. :\
 
^noted, sorry really wanted to talk synth discussions but then realised that was banned so wondered if anything else could come of talking about said compound! alas little so appologise, wont happen again :\
 
Does anyone else think that Pheener is an up and coming RC entrepreneur? His questions all seem to be about making new RCs and generating hype for those that are about to emerge.

8o oh no you caught me! quick guys I'm desperate I need an alternative to MEPH to keep my business alive! 8o [JOKE!]

Can I ask do you even know what the HIVE was? I have been doing this (discussing chemical modifications) for a LONG time, (far longer than most of these wow-meph-has inspired-me-to-do-pharmacology idiots) I am predicting longer than you. My previous log in was "Reminisant B" - check out those posts if you like - get a proper "feel for me". Shulgin called them "dirty pictures", the mere discussion of them does it for me. :D

..and as for midodrine - known about it for a LONG time, just realised bluelight was lacking in information on it - thought I would start one up. The HIVE discussed it at length once.
 
I don't think bringing the discussion of drugs w/o threads to ADD, I'm always interested in as much about everything as possible, although, I don't see how this could be recrational?

It doesn't cross the BBB so you're just going to get vascocontrictive properties with the pleasure of ampheatmines etc, that do cross the blood brain barrier?

If you could break off the OH group and strip 2 of the hydrogrens from H3CO and OCH3 you'd get DMA. (No I'm wrong, they arn't in the same positions, I just glanced at it quick then realized you'd have to move the bonds around, i'll leave up my mistake none the less

theres a bazillion chems that BL is lacking info on because there's a bazillion chems known thus far. It's probly lacking info on it for good reason-bcuz it doesnt apply to this website at all, as in the chem has nothing to offer anyone here unless u can come up with a good reason y(do u know y the Hive mentioned it?)

I am sorry to make the accusation. However, considering how recently your user name was created, your number of posts, and what I have seen you post about so far--it is a reasonable assumption. There have been so many new RC manufacturers trolling ADD and other bluelight forums, that I wouldn't be surprised to find another. (However, your response indicates chemistry nerd.)

I hadn't heard of the hive before, (other than the burning man camp), but I googled and kinda got a feeling for what it used to be. I guess I hadn't heard of it as I am not as into the whole synthesis thing. I am a lot more interested in what happens downstream of that--i.e. here is a drug, here is its effects. Now based on this info can we figure out what receptors it is acting with, whether or not it will have actual medical applications, and how does the mechanism of action affect its long term effects. I am especially interested in what is going on in the MAPS community, and well, general pharmacology. I am more of a biochemist than a synthetic chemist. I like ADD because it has intelligent people with whom I can discuss these effects using concrete scientific knowledge as opposed to, "omg, i is rolling, <3, xoxo." There do seem to be plenty of posts in ADD that aren't just like--what are the expected effects of this compound based on this functional group.

Just because I adore and respect Shulgin doesn't mean I can do what he does. I sadly admit in PiHKAL and TiHKAL I skip over the synthesis and go straight for the trip reports and conclusion.

I am sorry to disturb ADD with this kind of dribble, but I felt I needed to respond. Honestly, knowing me, I will probably fade into oblivion again in the next few days. I usually pop up and post on BL for a couple weeks every couple of years, usually draw little attention, and then disappear back into my non-bl life. Sometimes, I just need an escape. I just haven't had anyone to discuss pharmacology with recently as I am surrounded by colleagues in science who would think it weird if I started talking about this stuff or non-scientists who tell me to shut up. However, if any of you know of a message board that would be more in line with my acute interests, feel free to suggest it to me and I will wander over there.

If you want to discuss this with me further, please send it to a PM so as not to add more irrelevant drama to the board.
