Opioids Micron Filter help

When injecting opiates it's obviously necessary to filter the solution. Now I have used q-tips and cigarette filters for this in the past but I always see "micron filter" being spoken of. What are these and can I get them at a local pharmacy? Can someone link a pic of one? And furthermore, are they something that is mainly used by junkies, or do they have a better looking purpose ?
