Canada eh, we get milk in bags.
Is it possible to apply for microfinance in the 1st world? I want to start a small business that I'l work on the side of my military career, and need about 700 bucks to do so, so I was thinking micro credit loans might be the right thing, if anyone has links to places to ask for them in Canada, it would be much appreciated.

I have no idea dude. I'm sure when you involve $$$ the lil word "micro" turns into "MACRO" lol.
I have no idea how your credit is, if it's good hit up the bank with a good %rate.
If not hell you might have to fork your car over for some cash.

my credit is terrible, but its not 100% my fault. (if anyone wants to hear me complain about the paperwork side of the CDN forces paying a troop, PM me, it can be comical if your not the one eating stolen food,

I don't know about the Americas, but many countries in Europe have programs where they will give you a grant to start a business if you present a reasonable plan to them. There may be some equivalents where you live, probably worth looking into.

In all seriousness, have you heard of Vancity? They seem to be the place to go in Canada for anything finance. Have a read of their Loans page.

here is some info on financing in Canada if you have bad credit.

What providence are you in? I found a few other websites specifically for microfinance loans, but they're providence-speficic.
