Hatiras, is a multi award-winning artist originally from Toronto, Canada. He has established himself as one of the planet's top, and most consistent electronic music DJs & producers.Throughout the '90s Hatiras was involved in the scene as a rave promoter. He formed and led a promotions company called "Liquid Adrenaline" that attracted up to 10,000 people per event in zany venues including airplane hangers, train stations, hotel suites, poolsides and convention halls. His vast knowledge and contacts in the scene eventually led him into the world of music production and a fruitful record deal with IHR - the infamous Chicago based record label headed by Bad Boy Bill. At the time, the IHR/Mix Connection family, which included artists such as Hatiras, Paul Johnson, H-Foundation, CZR, Angel Alanis, Steve Smooth, JJ Flores and Bryan Cox was making a huge impact on the world of house music.By 2001 Hatiras scored a massive worldwide hit called "Spaced Invader" that released on the UK's Defected Records and Australia's Ministry of Sound. HULK - DUBSTEP
aka CLAW & RICHIE AUGUST
(Brotown/Play Me/Potty Mouth Music/Furthersound)
ALBANY,NY & CHICAGO,IL
http://myspace.com/hulkstep
Hulk is a collaboration of the minds of two creative minds sharing a similar enthusiasm for heavy driven bass music, Claw & Richie August. After meeting at the 2009 Winter Music Conference in Miami, they began to send files back and forth to collaborate on projects in Dubstep, Hip Hop and Electro. Since the inception, Hulk has been catching the eyes and ears of artists such as Reid Speed, Reso, Mark Instinct, Ultrablack, TrillBass, High Rankin and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, just to name a few.
Their first official release dropped on Reid Speeds’ Play Me Records as a Beatport exclusive in January of 2010, containing the tracks, “See You” and “Angeldust” with official remixes by King from Las Vegas. Hulk has also recently launched their own record label, “BroTown Records” with the help of Symphonic Distribution. This new venture already has the scene begging for the slated releases to drop, with songs by Claw and Richie August along BroTown artists Vaski, Druley, Mark Instinct, Symbl and their own moniker Hulk. Get ready for the biggest bass in the game, as Hulk is here to SMASH!
Claw emerged in Houston, Texas in 1999, at the age of 15. He was well-received from the start, making contacts with the local rave DJ’s of the time. By the time he was 16, he was playing at some of Houston’s bigger underground parties and weekly events. After graduating high school, he moved to Florida to pursue music as a profession and began playing at weekly events. After finishing his music engineering studies at Fullsail in Orlando, Claw made his way across New York working at numerous studios with various engineers and producers. He then moved to Las Vegas to pursue his record label with Trillbass, which he co-founded. Claw also just did an official Dubstep remix for Wu-Tang that debuted at # 7 on the ITunes Hip Hop chart, and is currently back living in NY to run his art gallery and record label ventures.
Richie August started out mixing Drum & Bass and Hip Hop in the south-side of Chicago in 1998. He began producing his own tracks in 2000, alongside Chicago Hip Hop artist, “Skope The Lyrical MC”. In early 2008, Richie got his first taste of dubstep and It didn’t take him long before he was refining his sound and signing his first EP of tracks to Betamorph Recordings. The Death Proof EP came out and solidified Richie and his unique blend of teeth rattling bass and Hip Hop edge in the Dubstep community. As soon as you hear a new Richie August tune, you know it’s his. Since then, he’s been making dancefloor smashing hits, remixing, collaborating, and is up to over 15 releases on various labels, with no slowing down in sight.

SPKTRM
(Human Imprint / Habit / Project 51 / Evol Intent)
http://www.myspace.com/thespktrm
Throughout the past several years, Raphael Johnson aka Spktrm has become widely acknowledged as one of the most upcoming and technically sophisticated producers in the American drum & bass scene. With a sound that ultimately epitomizes his alias, fans have come to expect each of his productions to differ drastically in style and technical orientation. Spktrm has released music thus far for labels such as Dieselboy’s Human Imprint Recordings, Evol Intent Recordings and Barcode Recordings among others.
As of late, he has delved back into the isolated confines of the studio, redefined his sound once again and created new, forthcoming projects that are best described as work that incorporates thought as a requisite of the listening experience as opposed to simply being pummeled by meaningless sub sonic sound waves. New releases in 2010 will include multiple pieces on Milwaukee heavyweights Gein’s new label, Bad Chemistry Recordings, as well as their well established Habit Recordings. Spktrm has also aligned himself with Los Angeles based, legendary drum & bass producer Gridlok, and has completed works for his infamous Project 51 Recordings.
Spktrm is also a veteran behind the decks. His sets have been known to be as unpredictable as his songs, melding the darkest and harshest aspects of contemporary drum & bass with the smooth facets of jazz, hip hop and funk fueled jungle, resulting in a drastic performance differentiation from show to show. Through constant and tireless work, Spktrm is rapidly carving a place for himself in the global drum & bass scene, and is an act not to be missed.
Here's some of what to look out for from Spktrm in 2010:
"Avant Futura" / "Iconia"
Habit Recordings
"Planet Human" / "Flux" (feat. Arsenic)

Rex Sepulveda (Live)
(D-Records/Detroit,MI)
http://www.myspace.com/sexpulveda
In 1996 Rex started tracks for a label called "Development" - which was at that time a sub-label of Rich Hawtin's Minus label dedicated to new and upcoming producers in the Detroit area. Hawtin had devoted a studio space for the artists to come and record tracks, and out of these sessions came the two development compilations in 1997.
In 1998, Lenny Bartush, Rich Hawtin, Tom Newman, Clark Warner and Rex formed what is now known as D Records. Rex has released 5 intense cuts on D Records, with two remixes of Fred Giannelli's track on D 11. Rex has also remixed a classic Plus 8 track the Wipe and a Beira track on Flumo recordings.
Rex does not only produce dance music, but also likes to manipulate sound to produce experimental ambient music, none of which has been released yet. You can hear a live set of this style in one of his two sets on 11-6-04 at paxahau.com. His tracks have been featured in mix CDs and reviewed in magazines such as URB, Wire, De:Bug and Mix Mag.
When Rex plays he is known to present a solid blend of minimal and tech-house, venturing up to banging acid techno if the crowd is up for it. Usually he likes to make things more interesting by experimenting with unreleased material to gauge the crowd response. Rex has had the privilege of playing alongside the likes of Rich Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Adam Beyer, Sammy D, Surgeon, Fred Giannelli and Vladislav Delay, to name a few. He has played parties, festivals and clubs in North America and overseas. Some of these sets can be heard on paxahau.com, under his various monikers.

DJ PSYCHO
(DTM/Bangtech12/Detroit,MI)
http://www.myspace.com/djpsychodtm
http://www.detroittechnomilitia.com/
DJ Psycho (Dezi Magby) has been repping the streets for the last 25 years of his life, dedicating himself to the art of not only rocking the crowd, but making a mix that is as complex as his interests. Mike Banks (UR) himself said, after seeing him for the first time, “Look at him! Just look at him! He truly doesn’t give a fuck! Records don’t make him. He makes THEM do what he wants them to do!” He’s been referenced as being “the split difference between The Wizard and The Tazmanian Devil”.His live mixes cross boundaries and genres effortlessly, and his mixes on CD go beyond simply beatmatching records – they tell stories. Being a DJ is not so much how he makes a living as it is how he lives. At this stage in the game, he still practices 3-5 hours daily with no breaks.
Psycho took to the turntables after watching Grandmaster Flash on MTV in 1981. He had already been taking up guitar, piano and percussion, so the musical aspect was already there. He also had uncles in Detroit and Pontiac who introduced him to the game, and by 1983, their training paid off when he started DJing junior high and high school dances. He had co-founded a band the same year, Your’z Truly, playing guitar on stage and various instruments in the studio. In 1987, he met Kevin Klida (DJ Max Jerome), who ended up helping him secure his very first club gig at The Mikatam in Genesee, MI. After that first taste of notoriety, he started smashing everything in sight, touring alongside Digital Underground, Ice Cube and Naughty By Nature, getting his own mix show on local radio station WWCK-105 fm, and procuring the Midwest DMC finals championships 3 years running.
Michael Wenz
(Outlawed Prod./Milwaukee,WI)
http://www.myspace.com/djmichaelwenz
Michaels ears, eyes and mind are always open. His musical diversity and willingness to experiment elevates his listeners to an unparallel frenzy. Regardless of circumstances, Michael can always be expected to play an awesome set that ignites the vibe of the party. In each set you can always feel the energy hit high peaks as he builds up the music The dance music that he plays has been assigned many labels, many have attempted to pigeonhole his work. However Michaels music cannot be so easily classified. It is best described as hard trace without being predictable, breakbeat without being cheezy, and acid techno without being minimal or boring. Simply put slammin electronic dance music. He is one of the most inspiring and insanely talented DJs. His success can be surely attributed to his unique talent, dedication and passion for music as well as his outgoing personality. Be on the look out for his peak time madness!!!!

SERAX-DUBSTEP-DETROIT-db productions/detroitdubstep.com
http://www.facebook.com/djserax
http://detroitdubstep.com/
In the beginning there was Detroit Techno and now there is Dubstep. Jason "Serax” Richards has been throwin down behind the decks since 98’ but formally moved onto the Dubstep scene in 2007 and has been hooked ever since. It’s not the same two-step either but hard-hitting baselines and dirty beats that dominate his tracks.
Born and raised in Detroit and a self-taught DJ, Serax had the early influences of electronic music from Jeff Mills and the drum and bass influenced by Mark Moss (8en). His original style was the “jump up style” of drum and bass but he quickly moved to harder beats and fell in love with the Reggae and Ragga DNB style. His Dubstep influences include Caspa, Rusko, Excision, Borgore, Datsik, Bar 9, Skream, 16 bit, Emalkay, MRK1, Reso, Ill Gates and Mistabishi to name a few.
Serax has played venues spanning the United States, spinning alongside the likes of AK1200, Dieselboy, ODI, Capital J, Freaky Flow, Vaski, Bassnectar, Black Sun Empire, Hellfire Machina, Hulk, Aphrodite, Juan Atkins and many more. That’s in addition to residency stints and various after-hour venues in Detroit and Ann Arbor.
After a brief hiatus, Serax has been back on the scene with the same “wobble swagga” as before, delivering pure bass pleasure and killin’ it for dubsteppers and drum and bass junkies alike.

Sutter
(Disfresh/Detroit,MI)
http://www.disfresh.com/
Sutter has quickly established himself over the last 5 years as one of Detroit's go to guys for house music. Since becoming a partner and artist of Detroit record and production label, Disfresh, Sutter has shared the stage with many international stars.
During the spring of 2006, Sutter and Dj Bassick decided "Hey, let's do this Disfresh thing". With the support and inspiration of like minded friends, this idea has developed into a label known for Detroit events from the intimate monthly residencies like "Glitch" and "[something clever]" to large scale NYE and Movement Festival after parties. These events have provided the opportunity to share the stage with talents like Johnny Fiasco, Ken C (ECB), Peter Christianson (LCG) and Justin Martin just to drop a few...
Sutter's style of delivering deep, funky dance music has evolved over the years by blending from varieties of influences from Detroit to Chicago and beyond. This formula has produced Sutter's recognizable sound around deep and sexy house with no shortage of neck-breaking jams. After all, "This is a DANCE party right"?
Aside of Disfresh event productions, his recent focus has been directed to music production. After only a short period of time he has built a small collection of jams that you may find yourself moving to. "I'm really excited to get into this. It's like learning to DJ all over again."
