Stimulants methylphenidate - what are yall thoughts on methylphenidate (concerta)

i have been perscribed concerta in the past and have had a lot of fun times with it specifically when i get into the range of 100 mg or more
i just was curious what experiences you all have had with this substance and if u all had any particually cool experiences with this

I use to use it as a study drug to stay wired all night and get loads of work done

I've also been out to night clubs a few times on it. Pretty good for keeping awake till the sun rises whilst drinking (the comedown on booze + amphetamines is pretty harsh though)

I've been prescribed it on and off since the late 90s and don't care for it. It tends to make me feel a bit depressed and prone to excessive rumination and the crash blows. I never really tried taking it in a recreational context though. Most recently I was prescribed 36mg a day with a 10mg booster for the evening and rarely went over my prescribed dose. I've had a lot more fun with dex/elvanse and find them more helpful for productivity too.

Ritalin (Methylphenidate) is a mild stimulant and antidepressant. In medical literature, Ritalin is considered a “ Classic Amphetamine” even though its skeletal structure is slightly different

Classified as a DNRI (like Bupropion/Wellbutrin) BUT is significantly more effective at ED-50 (Effective Dose to inhibit 50% of the Dopamine Transporters…..which is required to induce euphoria and true Amphetamine/dopaminergic stimulant effects

Actually, Ritalin (Methylphenidate) is nearly identical to Cocaine in its MOA, both being classified as “Inverse Agonists” ….they compete for the same binding sites at the DAT & NET ….they prevent the reuptake of monoamines in addition to inducing the release/increase of these monoamines as well

Cocaine has different MOA and pharmalogical profiles, being a Tropaine Alkaloid extracted from the Coca shrub in South America (Columbia, Bolivia, Peru) and a potent Triple Reuptake Inhibitor with a high affinity to the DAT

Ritalin (Methylphenidate) is fully synthetic and features a substituted Phenylethylamine skeletal structure, like classic amphetamines. Ritalin is close to 2X more Potent than Cocaine at inhibiting the DAT but very less activity at the Serotonin levels
