Methylphenidate (Ritalin) - dosage?

SWIM has been trying to find out if he is fine to try more methylphenidate. Sofar he has orally taken 4 (20mg) tablets, and he is thinking of snorting 1 more. His heart rate is fine and surprisingly he has felt "higher" on my usual daily dose of 20mg.

Any links to other information about dosage would be appreciated.

Don't say SWIM, first of all. It's stupid.
You will be fine to sniff one more if your heart rate and everything is fine. Just listen to your body at all times.

wait until the oral dose starts hitting you or when you start comming down and need a slight boost.

as eagleman said, don't use swim- it offers no legal protection and its quite annoying (I'd edit it out and change it to first person pronouns).

I must say that just about any dose can be bad..

I myself, stupidely, abuse this for many days witouth sleep, eat... Been at times where I seriously thought my heart would fail in any minute.. Been told in hospital my heart would stop.. then race..
I had severe infections cos of this.. One where I couldn't even drink. I am tolerent to pain but this unbearable.. I had to keep moving, twitching, make noises to just bear the pain.. I had to stay 2 days in hospital getting antibiotics IV, locked in psychiatric ward..
Being stupid and using lots of days in a row can lead to stimulant psychosis. I was off meds and drugs and no disorders for a long time and I began thinking and imaganing and feeling thigs that were not real.
