Are there a handful of people who react differently to this drug? More specifically, does it cause instant-anxiety/depression?

The few times I've ever used methylphenidate, it has sent me into a state of anxiety that I cannot undo. Even drinking alcohol will not get me out of it. I do not do cocaine and when I take Methylphenidate, it's normally spaced apart from adderall/speed useage.

I just want to hear from someone with advanced knowledge what causes this to happen to me. I imagine it could be a down-regulation of certain receptors due to mdma use.

However my friend and I took mdma together 2 days ago, and he reacted completely different to methylphenidate. He experienced a euphoric, "cocaine-like" high, while I simply wanted to sit and stare at a television. I even dosed slightly higher than he.

Strangely dextro-amphetamine feels incredibly powerful to me even in small doses.

It could be you're just very sensitive to the norepinephrine release part of methylphenidate. You're definitely not alone - lots of people will feel "uncomfortable" on a big dose of methylphenidate, some on even smaller ones. Some only get anxiety after the comedown.

How much methylphenidate are you taking at once?

It could also be that you respond poorly to DARIs. I'm like this, methylphenidate, cocaine, mdpv, desoxypipradrol, etc. causing a great deal more anxiety than euphoria.

I don't think there will be a "next time" to be honest. Even on much lower doses I still experience a feeling of not being able to accomplish anything on my own and doing everything I'm told. To each their own ;/

Edit: A little mini rant here.

It seems like the receptors in my brain that are targeted by drugs like MDMA seem to take an unreasonable amount of damage compared to other people. While I take a moderate dose of MDMA, and experience very light come downs and depression,

it is extremely hard for me to continue using other stimulants such as speed for days after dosing mdma.

Could this be due to a down-regulation of 5htp receptors that do not repair as quickly as they do for other people?
