Methylone and antibiotics

My pal Randy is taking a 7-day course of doxycycline and he's wondering if anyone knows about the interaction of this (or other antibiotics) with methylone.

I found this thread about interactions between antibiotics and MDMA. I suspect the effects on methylone will be similar since its structure is so similar, but it'd be nice to know if anyone here has info about methylone specifically.

After a great deal of forum/web searching, Randy decided to give it a try at a low dose... for science!

Goal:
Determine whether doxycycline potentiates or otherwise alters the effects of methylone.

Experiment:
T-6:45 - day's first dose of doxycycline 100mg (4th dose of the 14-dose course)
T-3:00 - food
T+0:00 - 50mg methylone dissolved in water
T+1:15 - redose 50mg
T+3:00 - redose 50mg
T+5:00 - day's second dose of doxycycline 100mg

Conclusions:
The experience did not seem very different from normal, if at all. Virtually no effects were noticed by the time of the second dose. By T+1:30, the effects were comparable to a normal 100-125mg dose; effects started decreasing around T+2:45. The third dose extended the effects without intensifying.

Thanks for the reminder, but the doxycycline was taken per a doctor's instructions for a diagnosed infection.

hmm, i wouldnt think there would be any difference really, in either a positive or negative way, as the substances act on very different targets, and are metabolized via different routes, and even absorbtion takes place in different parts of the gut.
this is a good data point, but it should also be noted that one experience doesnt really give the definitive answer.
i may add, from experience, that after a 10 day course of amoxicillin, the m1 experience was in no way different. the recovery the day after was however a bit harsher than usual.

however, during the convalescence period it should be remembered that the body is pretty frail, immune system is pretty damaged, and generally the state of things in not good. the stress of the methylone experience can be felt on a healthy normal person, so the impact on a sick one will be greater, and might prolong the recovery period.
also to note regarding this is that usually during the course of antibiotics people tend to feel better a lot earlier than the actual dissaparence of the infection (the body is still fighting for itself but one feels better already).

personally i would just wait with any experiments for some days at least after finishing any medication for an acute illness and getting an ok from a doc before thinking of trying any research...
