I as many suffer from constipation from opioids. I have MS so i can't really quit my prescriptions.
I used Google to try to find some better remedies then using anti constipation medication and came across an article on using oral methylnaltrexone. Apparently it blocks the opioids in the GI tract.
I don't see my doctor for another couple weeks and I'm going to bring it up.
Just curious if anyone has tried this before?

I just browsed it a little, seems like the opposite of lope. The most eye-catching thing to me was the idea that in certain (mainly inflammatory) conditions, it can increase pain by up to 60% as a lot of pain relief is mediated via peripheral receptors.

Ya i don't need 60% more pain. Sounded good though because im on an extremely high dose of opiates and no matter how much different types of fiber or stool softeners I take im still pooping bricks.

Peripherally-Acting Opioid Antagonists are a worthwhile shot imo! I'm gonna ask my doctor about them as well. I'd imagine they'll probably immediately trigger Diarrhea as the main side-effect so be careful lol.
