I am wandering if MXE could help with opium/heroin withdrawal and i'd like to know if someone has any kind of experience or knowledge on that matter.
Opiate withdrawals suck, they consist mostly of increased pain sensitivity, flu like symptoms, high anxiety, insomnia and depression. Many people already know ketamine could be useful in treating opioid withdrawal by reducing pain sensitivity, fatigue, anxiety, depression and giving psychedelic insight.
It has been also said that ketamine and other NMDA antagonists reduce opioid tolerance, and in my personal experience, even single administrations allowed me to reduce my methadone dose (even by half) without too much discomfort (it seems to me that it works particularly good with methadone bit I have not much experience regarding ket and other opioids).
The most important drawback of using ketamine for opioid withdrawal is k really short duration, almost forcing the person in question to constantly redose ket to achieve continuous relief from withdrawal symptoms, with the risk of an irritation to the nose if I am snorting it.
I has a little experience with Methoxetamine, which I found to have many similarities with k but also many differences. For me MXE is somehow an expanded and diluted version of k, with a slower onset, a longer duration and a mellower feeling, I kinda felt it like I imagined Soma in Huxley's Brave New World when I read it years ago. It has a really exquisite balance between psychedelic, relaxant and stimulating effects. Low dose gives a beautiful relaxation, pain relief, high artistic inspiration a profound easiness of mood and a subtle sensorial amplification, while medium high dose gives all the said effects plus a strange kind of "i dont give a fuck" feeling and the typical dissociative psychedelic mindfuck, its visual distortion seem to be more colorful and even lsd like than ketamine, its a bit closer to classical psychedelics than ketamine is.
MXE also sometimes gives a strange kind of feeling somewhat similar to the opioid apathy. There is some speculation about it having some mu opioid activity but I personally don't think so and if there is there is in some strange non classical opioid way (it could boost or activate maybe the endorphin system), ketamine also has some light affinity to the mu opioid receptor, but more recent papers suggest it doesnt have much activity to it, aka its not an agonist.
So there is the potential for MXE to be a good opioid detox medicine, maybe better than k for its longer duration and its mellower effect at low doses.
anyone any insight, experience?
I think this tread is IMPORTANT cause there is no information at all on the internet on this subject!!!
Is this thread in the right section???? Yes
please mods answer me i could post it in Other drugs or the Dark Side and you can close the one you think is not appropriate, or contact me. But really, i think its important.
