Methoxetamine and Sound

Back with another sub topic about things we experience when using the wonderful Methoxetamine!

Here's something I've noticed from day 1 of using mexy, the fan sounds that computers make become a lot more noticeable. Has anyone else ever noticed this, or found their own little quirk?
 
This might be related to tinnitus, which I find methoxetamine can produce especially in higher doses or in users with no tolernace.

I've noticed that after doing a fair amount of methoxetamine, that computer / fan sounds do seem amplified, and can kind of morph into other sounds (sound like faint music or voices).

If you do enough Ketamine or other dissociatives you will probably experience a similar effect.
 
Yeah methoxetamine will almost increase the volume of everything around you. So if you are alone in a quiet room with just your computer on, it will sound a LOT louder than usual.

Another related effect to bring up is how people tend to talk much louder while on methoxetamine. In fact I believe all dissociatives do this.
It isn't uncommon to have MXE turn a conversation between two people into a yelling contest.
 
Methoxetamine, to me, increases the high frequencies and decreases the bass. For all musics, bas becomes almost non-existent, and I hear a lot more the voices and high frequency notes. Fans have a wide spectrum of frequencies, but they also become more noticeable, because the high part may become particularly "contrastier", if that makes sense...
 
Glad to hear I'm not the only one, I think Glaive's hit it spot on - when you're in a room with your computer fan being the dominant sound, it's amplified. You're also right in mentioning that Methoxetamine is not the only culprit for this - Ketamine tends to have the same effect.

I don't use Ketamine anymore but when I was, I was living in an apt. with central AC and my brain used to create the most eccentric, ridiculous, and captivating IDM from the hum. Similar effects have been experienced with a running dish washer.
 
I've had a similar experience on ketamine. When I would take long bus rides I would put a bunch of ket in a bottle of orange juice and drink it the whole ride, once I was sitting in the back of the bus and the engine was extremely loud, the double vision visuals would vibrate to its frequency and it felt like my entire skull was rattling with this unnatural electric buzzing. But yea you gotta love listening to the dish washer when your the only one awake still dissociated at 4 am or something.

Very true! Its very noticeable when coming up too, you suddenly notice an increasing buzz-saw noise in your ears.. and then you start to slip.. awaaaaaaaaaaayyyy =D
 
MxE tends to make the lower frequencies more subtle and sound almost lagged behind, while the trebles sound more prominent and sharp. I notice voices and such tend to sound a lot louder than they really are.
 
This happens to me with mxe and when I tried ketamine the other day for the first time, it happened with that too. Strange, slightly bassy wobs and psychedelic guitar loops come from nowhere.
 
My fan sounds like a jet engine on a high dose of MXE. I find all sounds are amplified though, a good example is if a car drives past the house it sounds like the car is in the room with me not outside, very loud.

I found this with Ketamine too.
