Methopholine is an opioid analgesic drug invented in the 1960s.

Methopholine is an isoquinoline derivative which is not structurally related to most other opioids. It has around the same efficacy as an analgesic as codeine, and was evaluated for the treatment of postoperative pain, but never commercialised.

Interesting compound, isoquinolone opiate.

Seems to be a research paper "METHOPHOLINE, A NEW ANALGESIC AGENT" from 1963, prob to old to be digitalised.

Interesting, never heard of it....
It doesn't seem to have much abuse potential, if it's "the same efficacy as an analgesic as codeine".

I wonder how does it compare to all these weak Opioids which are just as strong (or weaker) than Codeine:
-Tilidine
-Propoxyphene
-Tramadol
-Ethylmorphine
.....
 
Maybe this is in use in other countries... Possibly eastern europe or some third world.... You could probably get a good "sampler" for cheap if that's true
 
No. stay away from it. it's a horrible drug that will kill you in an instant. Don't trust anyone selling it.
 
Wow , really that dangerous when the parent, methopholine is just the potency of codeine? and the nitro only 20X potency.

20 times the potency of codeine is not even as strong as morphine.

It should be a nice product to snort. Something with a little meat on it. You can actually put on a fingernail without overdosing.

4'-nitromethopholine just isn't that good, think the blandness of methadone but with a slow onset and short duration. And of course being a full mu agonist you can still die from it if you take too much, trying to chase something that isn't there. This sort of thing does not need to be encouraged.
 
that's why I was being discouraging. I found it to be somewhere between hydrocodone and morphine, but that slow onset and relatively short duration sucked the life out of it. IV was only marginally better.

Makes me almost glad, actually. A legal opioid that's unenjoyable enough that people won't bother with it.

I wish I was just saying this so people would leave it alone, but if it were good, I'd be using it instead of suboxone, but I still pay for suboxone every month.
 
Hammilton what was the dosage and route of admin. you tried (besides IV)? duration only 3-4 hrs?

P.S No disrespect to YOU, just curious about how one would come with up a starting dose and route of admin. for a chem. thats 20x the potency as codeine.

(-)-methopholine is 3 times as active as codeine, racemic 4'-nitro derivative is the strongest from this group (it's all comparison in strength when injected s.c.). Actually, activity falls like this: NO2 > F > Cl > Br. Moving groups from position 4' also causes fall in activity. Drugs are also spasmolytics. Actually it's nothing interesting and desperates are better ending ingesting codeine (or might even get a bigger chance to get a pure grade chemical that can be shot i.m. instead of losing money in search for this - I can imagine, they're ridiculous, especially when it's not so hard to synthesize it).

Yeah, having doses for s.c. I'd say if 400mg codeine i.m. is alright, then (400mg/20)- cross tolerance is my 'educated guess'. I don't know if educated guesses are a good idea in this field of science anyway.
