all right i'm from cali but am in the south right now and have noticed all the white stoners i know smoke blunts. on the west coast at least blunts are associated with black stoners/culture while white stoners are known for smoking joints.

i realize not everyone is the same and there are exceptions with everything, but this is speaking from my own cultural viewpoint and observations. i don't mean to offend anyone as i believe race is a rather ambiguous and politically-motivated term anyway..but culture is another thing and that's what i'm curious about.

personally i just smoke out of a bong or if i'm out somewhere, with a glass piece. i don't like the idea of losing all that extra smoke off a joint/blunt/spliff that could be getting me high...unless i have a little hash to put on the end of a cig and get a nice puff before it reaches the tobacco...i guess this is more of a European practice tho.

what's the stoner culture like in your area? what methods of smoking are most common? i guess pieces are pretty much universal..but aside from that..like public smoking methods. i'm especially curious about how weed/hash is smoked in places like the ME and Africa where hash pipes and hookahs with hash/weed+shisha seem to be used.

Well i live in the mid-west actually minnesota to be more specific, and the culture here is relatively straight forward. The black people i know smoke blunts, the white people i know smoke glass.

However their is a weird thing that happens once you move up past the twin cities (st.paul/minneapolis area) everyone smokes everything from black dudes smoking bongs to white dudes rolling the swishers. its actually kinda cool to see every sorta of race just be thrown aside to have everyone enjoying some weed.

As for me i am white and i smoke blunts and glass pieces it doesnt really matter to me. whatever is being passed ill smoke. And if i have not enough weed to fill a bowl ill put it at the end of my cig works like a charm.
 
i live in so cal, in my area (north L.A.), black people smoke blunts, noob white toners use peices and my crew (white) smoked blunts.

what i find funny is west coast smokes swisher blunts but everyone on the east coast swears by dutch masters, noone buys swishers on the east coast
 
I live in east TN and I always use swishers for blunts but usually use a piece as the OP said i don't like to waste any
 
I'm in a suburb near the Twin Cities too, and regardless of culture, everyone I know smokes blunts and glass. My friend group is especially fond of the waterfall. I've only seen someone smoke a joint once.
 
99% of the time me and my circle of friends smoke large snappers (1 hit, choke your ass off, relax). Every now and then I'll smoke a blunt but only if there's more than 3 people. Another group of friends that I don't see as much just looove spliffs, but I don't smoke tobacco so I don't participate
 
Pretty much whatever, everybody prefers blunts, but we'd always smoke out of my glass bowl. Joints are good for a small amount on the go, I only smoked like two joints ever, one of some decent mids by myself, and another of sour d with 4 others. We used to bring out the waterfall if we had a little weed and were trying to do it equal.
 
In the part of australian i live in ( Queensland ) my smoking circles 95% of the time smoke bongs, the other 5% are people who rarely smoke, and when they do they prefer joints because its not as strong in affects as smoking a bong. i only know 1 person in my area who has smoked a blunt and that was the once, they are extremely rare here. I myself love bongs :D and im white, most of the people in my area are aswell, but that dosnt seem to matter, white black or asian around here, you smoke bongs :)
 
I live in Auckland, NZ, and I have to say it's pretty much everything. Certain groups of people kinda have their own device they like to use, like a group of friends I know love buckies, while my group is more bongs, and pipes. Most of the 'black' (they're actually Maori or Pacific Islanders, we just call them black) people I know smoke joints, though.
 
It's true down in the dirty dirty, black people and dumb white kids smoke blunts (the white kids are dumb because they smoke blunts of good shit). Everybody I normally hang around with smokes from bongs and pipes.

Normally the people who smoke blunts down here smoke "reggie," but I bring the guys I work with (I'm the only white male under 40) into the realm of primo pot. Unfortunately, they still smoke blunts and are burning through their money.

No offense but from the bottom of this east coast cracka's heartt: Fuck that! Joints are no goods & burn way too fast. I know ima lil black at <3 but even if i wasnt i wouldn't waste my time with jay's everr. Games, dutchies, owls, phillys etc. some wraps are except able but generally burn too fast.

I'm in Melbourne Australia, basically everyone smokes bongs. Most people chop up and mix a bit of tobacco but not always. Smoke through 'cones' which has been discussed elsewhere and I am not going to delve into.
Pipes are commonly used also, but unlike America where glass is favoured we mainly use small metal pipes known as hashpipes.
Joints are smoked fairly often, blunts are a rare novelty.
I like bongs followed by pipes, also colour or race have no bearing basically everyone smokes bongs.

the white college student types tend to smoke out of nice bongs.
all white kids tend to have glass bowls.
most black folks and most white drug dealers smoke blunts (good shit).
haven't really seen a joint in a while, tbh.

Shittttt....here in Columbus shit has its own little cultural divide when it comes to smoking methods...

Most people from my neighborhood smoke blunts....but they aren't smoking killer so it doesn't matter. But that doesn't mean they won't rip my bong when its packed, they just stick to burning ls.

You drive like 15 minutes up to the northwest side, where the suburbs are at, most of the cats up there stick to glass, not saying they don't twist up, they just fuck with glass.

Me personally? Shit, if I'm at the crib I'm smoking outta my ROOR cause that's what the fuck I bought it. But when I leave I always got a pack of swisher rillo's, so I can twist up wherever I'm at. Kinda burns through my money smoking blunts of chronic though...
 
where i am everyone i know smokes blunts, or joints regardless of race. a lot use a vaporizer too and glass. we mix it up there is not really a race that smokes this and another that smokes that
 
TX here.

I was raised on blunts (regular flavor swisher sweet cigarillos only haha), in high school we thought it was the coolest thing in the world to smoke blunts (thought it made us "gangsta" or something LOL!). But honestly, if you smoke enough blunts it becomes blatantly obvious very quickly that they're a shitty and ridiculous smoking method (they fuck up the taste of great pot, too. Which is an unforgivable offense). This is not even to mention that the tobacco doubly fucks your lungs; inhaling swishers has to got to be the worst thing for your lungs that I could imagine -- just stank-nasty and dirty.

We quickly graduated to nice glass pieces, they are just so great in every way. Now that I'm in college, we pretty much exclusively smoke out of glass; except when I'm chillin' outdoors, I like to enjoy a nice well-rolled joint.
 
most of the bros that i know smoke blunts w/ reg weed. have to take some of that nasty flavor of the dirt weed away... everyone else i know smoke nice stuff and uses glass or bongs.

if its something really nice, i'll use glass. i usually smoke blunts with just the inner wrapper and roll it fairly thin like a 1/4". burns slower than a j and doesn't taste overly blunty.
 
^^^ I agree with how it's wasteful and hard on your lungs, but those are only factors if it's the standard smoking method. I think of a blunt as something I'd like to have and share among a friend or two while otherly impaired once in a while, I suppose much like how I smoke cigars, except I'll smoke cigars alone.

Around Montreal it's so culturally diverse that all kinds are accepted...but I've yet to run into somebody who only smokes blunts, or does often and regularily. Just as I've yet to find a person who smokes exclusively bowls or joimts.
