Some interesting bits of info that don't necessarily mean anything -
83 per cent of positive drug test drivers testing positive for Amphetamines.
29 per cent of drug drivers testing positive for Cannabis.
(112 percent?? hrm)
A lot more people use cannabis compared to amphetamines. So these figures are a bit surprising.
Add to that reports of people smoking a bong then going for a drive, getting tested and not testing for THC.
Makes me wonder how good these tests are at detecting cannabis use.
Note - people are still testing positive for weed so don't think you can still smoke and drive.
SPEED is the drug most likely to be affecting Victoria's drivers according to police figures released today.
It has been five-and-a-half-years since random drug testing was introduced on Victoria's roads and over 122,000 drivers have been drug tested. Almost 2000 of these drivers have tested positive to the use of drugs. In the last six months, police have drug tested 22,473 drivers with 336 drivers returning a positive result.
Victoria police figures indicate that 83 per cent of drivers under the influence of drugs were detected to have consumed speed. Cannabis was the next highest detected drug with 29 per cent of drug drivers and 15 per cent of drug drivers tested positive to MDMA or Ecstasy.
Of the 336 positive drivers caught in the last six months, almost 90 per cent were male, 35 per cent were under the age of 26 and almost a third of the positive drivers were detected in rural Victoria. Victoria's road toll currently sits at 173, 11 more victims than this time last year.

NOTE: Saliva tests are poorly sensitive to THC and detection times can vary considerably based on the cutoffs used. In some cases drug use may only be detectable for a few hours.
Adulteration products are readily available on the Internet to avoid oral fluid detection. (from wikipedia)
