Hi. This is my first post here, but I hope I will get helpful replies.
First off, I've been an opiate user for years now. I started on pills, moved up to heroin, etc, etc. I've detoxed from heroin, relapsed, got readdicted, detoxed, relapsed, etc, a few times.. It wasn't until recently that I got off heroin altogether and got into a methadone clinic. But now I think it's time for me to move on from this. I've heard horror stories of methadone withdrawal, so that's why I'm asking this here.
I've been on 100mg for a few months now, and the past few weeks I've been doing a fast detox down to 0mg. Today I took 30mg, tomorrow 25mg, the next day 20mg, etc. I just bought four 8mg suboxones to help with the withdrawals, but I've heard a lot of conflicting information in the best way/time to take them, how much, etc. The person selling them to me tells me I should take them no less than half a day after my last dose of methadone, which I know is absolutely batshit insane from my understanding of suboxone. However, I just want to get this over with. Should I just stop going to the clinic and wait for the methadone to get out of my system, maybe in 3-4 days? Should I finish my detox and then wait a few days? How much should I take at once? Does suboxone have any interactions with clonidine and/or trazadone (prescribed to me for the withdrawals)? Does anyone know of skelaxin/metaxalone will help with the withdrawals at all (got a whole bottle)? I've heard you should continue using your DOC after precipitated withdrawals if you choose to go that route to help with the precipitation until you can tolerate it... Is there any pain reliever that's better than the others for this sort of thing?
I've detoxed from heroin multiple times and I've found it fairly easy to do, since it only lasts ~5 days, but methadone detox scares the shit out of me, I'm already feeling like shit at 30mg. Any and all advice would be appreciated, aside from UTFSE...
