Hello everyone.

Long story short. I was on 70mg of opana for 1 year then had to switch to methadone. I waa on 90mg for about a year and now have weaned down to 37mg.. my last disease was 6am on Saturday. It's now Tuesday and withdrawal lsmptoms have not started. My suboxen appointment is tommorow. The precipitated withdrawal that can happen scares the he'll out if me, so I tried to do this right. But what if tommorow comes and still no withdrawal symptoms. ?? It takes over a month to get an appointment at this place so I don't want time go and not he treated BC of lack if withdrawal symptoms. I have read all the posts and see how the time frame for methadone withdrawal to start but I should be there. 37 mg and haven't doses since sat morning . I did take a 15 mg roxi on Mon for pain.
Any ideas?
Thanks everyone

Is there a better place on the forum for this post?
Update.. 7p.m and still no withdraw symptoms.

Please advise...

go to the appt. get the script then hold off on taking it until you start going into wd's?

Thanks for the response. This place gives you the script then you have to go back and dose the first time in front oh them. I even have to bring a driver.

I'll just be honest and see what happens. It's fng odd how thing's work.. the one time I want withdrawals they won't come. WTF is that. I can't wait to be free from all of this crap.

Update. .
I got my wish and was hit like a truck by withdrawals. The appt finally came and was given 8mg subutex to split and take twice daily for 1week then switch to 12mg suboxen. The sub relieved slot of the withdrawals but I didn't expect to still feel this bad.
My question for someone else how long does it take to feel normal again I still break out in sweat, legs throbbing, and really don't feel like moving. Maybe I should have stuck with the methadone and weaned to 0.
Any advice or personal thoughts would be appreciated. . Are there some good vitamina extra that help the body recover faster?

Thanks to all who respond.

I've heard people say the withdrawals from methadone can take anywhere from 3-4 days to a month or 2. Personally I think the people that say it took a month or more are people that have just been on it so long that just normal pain or normal irritation is just so overbearing to them because they have been on it for so long "hyper sensitivity". I was on a 100mg since 2004 and 2 months ago I just flat out stopped going. I just got tired of all the bs that goes along with a methadone clinic. I personally felt really ill for about 5 days and for the last month or so kind of irritable and kind of achy but like I said before I think thats just because I have been on it for so long the pains are just because I'm getting older and mentally I still look at myself as someone in his 20s. But like they say it does get better with time there are teas and vitamins you can look into that won't get you high but will make you feel better, cause lets face it methadone treatment isn't there to get high its there to make you normal again. You might wanna check out this article maybe it will help you find some non narcotic mixes to make your withdrawal more enjoyable http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=44631

Methadone is a full agonist and is very potent with a long half life. Suboxone is only a partial agonist, it also has a long half life. Your opiate receptors are used to a full agonist, so now your receptors are only being partially activated. That is why you are not feeling right, the worst should be over in 3-4 days. When I had a BT heroin habit and I would switch to suboxone, I would be sick for the first 3-4 days, then I would feel drastically better after that. GL

Yep like L2P said going from full agonist to partial agonist it usually takes people some time to stablize. And you might not feel stable or "right" for 1-2 weeks after you make the switch. It was the same with me going from pods to sub. Although I could feel the sub working and it was strong, it just didn't really match up with what my body was craving and it took some time to feel normal again.

You did a real smart thing though by tapering down as low as you did, and I see a lot of people who don't have the patience or sensibility to even do that. Also a lot of people don't mention this but one thing I found about opiates is taking them at the same time everyday really seems to make me feel more stable. Most of us addicts are use to just taking doses randomly when ever we want to, but try to take your sub around the same time everyday it will keep the levels from bouncing all over the place in your blood. G/luck and keep us updated as things get better which I know they will.

you don't need to be in full-blown withdrawal when you're about to take SUB.
u can Just be somewhat WD and take sub.

Thank you all so much for the info. I wasn't aware the transition was this ruff. Atleast I understand whats going on now thanks to you all.
Let me rephrase. .....to be free of the fng methadone clinic is a beautiful thing. I don't want to scare anyone off who wants to make the switch from methadone to suboxen.
The subs take away the withdrawals. . Just feels like a have the flu, achey, headache, cold/hot flashes ALOT.
If I have to feEl like this for a week or 2 and to now be in the route to detoxing peacefully with subs cause methadone seems hopeless for me.

Thanks again for the help.
