Im trying to get more info on methadone that isn't just heresay. Doctors may be the ones prescribing it, but they aren't the ones who are truly in the fight. It affects each of us differently and I am in need of more information. I once had it prescribed for pain relief with the pills, but honestly; I couldn't deal with the effects. And the pain relief didn't work for me. I'm doing the oxycontin oxycodone thing now, but I have someone close to me who's trying to get off opiates by going the methadone clinic way. Their issue is the nausea associated with it. How does one deal with it? It seems everything interacts with methadone in one way or another and not in a good way. I'm talking about how does one deal with it? Does it eventually go away with time? This is why Im here. To learn listen and possibly help.

Someone told me a story where he was the bus driver for a school, and one of his stops was outside a methadone clinic. He drove that bus for years or something, and over the years he watched the people going their slowly deteriorate and fall apart. It was pretty scary.

I just watched a video from Vice on HBO about how this guy was using the Ibogane treatment to kick Opiate addictions (it only works for opiates). Something like 90% of the people who did it are still clean. The guy they did it with on the show is still clean after a year, and before that he had tried to kick his addiction at least 30 times he said. I'll try to find the link, because they have their videos on Youtube too.

The nausea associated with the methadone is most likely due to high a dose... methadone is really a pretty strong drug.. an interesting thing about methadone is that even though it last for a long time the analgesic effects only last about eight hours so if someone is taking it for pain they will need to redose more often.. welcome to BL and I hope you find what you are looking for.. enjoy.
