Opioids Methadone side effects

Hey guys so I have been having some problems when going to the bathroom. No polite way of putting this. Very painful bm (burning pain) with sometimes a little bit of blood. I know constipation is a common side effect of methadone. I'm not constipated, but am surely passing very hard stools. Fairly certain I'm experiencing an anal fissure. One time in the shower I was washing the area with soap and it burned, the feeling of a cut getting soap in it. I am under 35 so risk of it being anal or colorectal cancer is pretty low but...just need some reassurance that this is due to methadone?? Does anyone else experience this?

Doesn’t really happen on Methadone……sounds like a GI tract matter. Are you on any NSAIDS or Cellebrex etc. They cause GI issues if not taken with food or another med to protect the stomach & GI track …..blood while wiping could happen when using NSAIDS

Methadone causes hard stools initially …..get a stool softener and Fibre1 …..Fibre1 is a white powder mixed in orange juice and lots of water……drink before dinner or whenever…just have a comfy washroom close by. Coffee also will make you go fast. Lots of fibre in your diet

If you’re stools are really hard and you’re pushing your could have bleeds or hemmroids that bleed.

DRINK a a lot of fiber supplement and see if that helps. That’s been the best way for me to get my stool regular and healthy on methadone

If you actually ripped a fissure in your ass from hard stool you’ll need to see a doctor. A specialist too. But it could just be a hemmroid on the inside

This is my first time ever having bowel issues so I appreciate the input. I've never had a hemorrhoid but maybe that's what it is. It seems like it'll be painful as fuck for a couple days then gradually get less and less painful, as if it has healed? Idk. I did buy some preparation h and metamucil so hopefully that works...I don't wanna be dealing with some kind of chronic issue ffs. Also would rather not go to get my butthole scoped if I can resolve this at home

Im not on methadone but i am on morphine and sometimes if i use a fuckload i get hemmoroids from it. It sounds like hemmorroids to me to be honest so nothing to much to worrry about. I find milk of magnesia to work great for constipation or if you cant stomach that just magenesium pills will work to.

Had the same issue. Went from diahreea for years to hard logs. Got better with time though

Similar thing happened to me when i first went to the clinic. Went away after about a month. Had the opposite problem before hand lol. Now its just immaculate regular style shit.

Hi. I have recently stopped methadone after 6 years and wish I knew since I jumped off 7 days ago I have slightly gotten better but I still can't stop restless body and legs and have had less that 4 hours sleep in a week. Does anyone know how long to expect this or does it differ from person to person. Also I was on 140 and tapered down to ten before stopping. Thanks. Any suggestions appreciated. I come to the conclusion that the resources on getting people on methadone are a lot more than getting off. They authority's want us on the liquid handcuffs' and on no opiate lists. You cant holiday, associating with friends that still use is near impossible, and the N/A is a church recruitment ploy. It's lonely when your whole life you have been getting high and you stop. I was an addict for 42 years. Even remember sniffing glue and solvent and 8 years old. I didnt know why. It's something I inherited from family. I've had no kids because of it. I would never suicide. I'm going to die soon enough now I have cirrhosis. I just wish society could realise that when you have communicated with a certain type of personality your whole life that I have nothing in common with straight folk. I find them boring and judgemental. Especially the one who help you for a weekly wage. Just give me what I need to get better, all junkies who are long term know what works. Sorry for laying it on.
