methadone side effect

i started taking methadone about 2 months ago, i'm on 80mg daily, i've noticed quite a few times lately that when it starts to work in the morning i get very tense and feel like i could destroy something very easily, i don't really know how to describe this sensation any better, it's just a tensed up feeling in my head not my body, like my muscle don't tense up but my brain is telling me to make them tense but i just try to relax, and also it seems like things are happening really fast but i know they aren't, my brain is just telling me they are, it's so hard to describe, i'm wondering if anyone else has ever noticed this with opiates, i used to get it really bad on tramadol a couple years ago when i was on that, i've taken opiates for the past 5 years constantly, every kind there is, IV, nasally, and orally, if anyone has any ideas to what this is please let me know, thanks
 
Methadone definately makes time seem like its going faster. Do you feel withdrawals? Maybe you need a dose raise, since youve been using for 5 years. I was only using 6 months, but at near lethal doses, so I am currently on 180mg. I want to get off, but methadone withdrawal is no joke.
 
i know what you mean by the making time go quicker, this is not like that, it's just 5 minute episodes normally just a couple hours after i take my dose so i know it's not withdraw either, i have no idea what it is, it scares the shit out of me. i feel like i'm having a psychotic episode, i remember when i used to use tramadol i would get this effect A LOT.
 
I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but sometimes when I'm on opiates (including methadone) I'll be all chill and feeling good, then suddenly this wierd feeling will come over me. Kind of like when your going through withdrawls and you can't sit still beacuse you feel like you're crawling in your skin. The feeling normally builds until I get a few spasms and I want to run around and be like: "AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" (I normally don't actually do that). Then I sit back down and everything's okay.

That feeling is expected when you're actually withdrawing, but it's weird when I get it when I'm actually on the drug. I don't know if that's what you're talking about, but what I'm describing happens to me sometimes.
 
Yes, sometimes i hallucinate after injecting methadone, or start talking to people that arent there. Its feels like psychosis, but goes away quickly...........
 
this feeling is nothing like withdrawing but i do feel like i want to run around and go "ahhhhhh!" and just break stuff in general, it only lasts for like 5 minutes though, when it happens i feel like i could just grasp something and crush it in my fingers without problem, no matter what it was.
 
like i said it doesn't occur when i don't take it only when i take it, 2 hours or so afterwards which would be about the same time it starts taking effect, would you like me to say it again?
 
i was on methadone for 2 years and cramped up often and was severely constipated. the only side effects i had were the above and sweating bigtime. if i did the least bit of work i was drenched. the constipation was the worst. nothing worse than not being able to go. man, im glad im off that shit.
 
Damn im on 180mg IV (i get many take homes), and i dont have constipation. Maybe this is a testament to my high tolerance. It would take alot to get me constipated.

And I sweat like a pig even when im just sitting around, and if im working on something my face is drenched.
 
i can't split my dose, they watch me take it everyday.

they now do this where i live and i was going on a NHS free programme. took 3 months just to get to see someone - gr8 for ppl who are stealing to fund their habit. this is just impossible and IMO a complete disregard for your dignity. I told em to go fuck, i'll sort out my own detox.

Cant you get to see a private doctor?
 
i attempted to get into see a doctor that prescribed buprenorphine but they were all full, i then looked on the internet for meth clinics in dayton ohio, i found one, i checked in, it took 2 weeks to get started on methadone, they started me at 30mg and decreased the dose 6mg every 5 days, after 2 more weeks i finally got put on maintnance and 80mg, so it took a month to get started, there are no other clinics around here.
 
supervised pick up

Guys if there making u drink your methadone in the chemist infront of them,u should be able to get it stopped.
The guidelines state that supervised should only be used 4 a max.of 3months,and only after 3months if there is a very good reason or unless u have specifically asked for supervised pick up.
I was put on supervised ,but got straight off it by complaining as most CDT's in the UK break the guidelines with supervised+daily pick-ups.
if anyone in the uk needs help getting off supervised gimme a shout.

this side effect is starting to lessen each day i still wonder what it is though, it's REALLY ODD, one of my friends says he used to get it from tramadol back in the day also, he knew exactly what i was talking about so i know someone on here understands, PLEASE REPLY GUYS.
