Opioids methadone question

Right now I've been really short on my supply of opiates. I'm about to get a 10mg methadone that I'm going to IV. I have NEVER taken methadone prior, and this a single dose one time thing. I know for fact I'm getting a whole bunch of dilaudid tomorrow. My question is if I take this 10mg dose IV right now at 7:30 will it significantly interfere with my 12mg dose of dilaudid tomorrow? I understand there is a blocking effect but this is a one time thing and I'm IVing it which I believe shortens the half life somewhat which is 36-55 hours. Does anyone have experience similar to my situation.

It doesn't shorten the half-life.

IV might put you in withdrawal more quickly, because it hits you more quickly, therefore leaving your system more quickly.

IV methadone is pretty dangerous ofc. (most people would recommend against it)

My speculation is it will interfere/diminish the effects of another opioid for aprox. 30+ hours...but who knows..

You know yourself better than I do obv.

stay safe

10mg methadone is not going to block your hydromorphone tomorrow...

That's not a blocking dose...

If you are used to shooting 12 mg of hydromorphone, you might be under your tolerance with 10mg of methadone.
