methadone makes me so drowsyyy?

I have two 100mg liquid methadone bottles and everytime I dose I get so damn tired. It actually makes the high pretty annoying because I just wanna nap. Any reccomendations or similar experiences? Any combos or something? or does methadone just kinda act this way?

My old pain doctor would give me 10 mg methadone to get me through the night. Sometimes during the day I used it too but in the beginning got slightly drowsy but not overly tired. So your dose is much higher! Can you cut it down a bit until your body adjusts to it? just a thought, theresa

Methadone can be pretty sedating compared to other traditional opiates. It's a contributing factor to the dangerousness of combining methadone with other substances. I'd say it's pretty normal, but maybe a little inconvenient.
