Opioids Methadone lead to hairloss?

I switched from suboxone to methadone a month ago. And I'm noticing a significant amount of hair loss I'm only 24, should I switch back to suboxone while I have a full head of hair, it's getting thinner, and working it's way out, :( help
 
I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss. I could be wrong but I have never heard of anyone losing their hair from methadone. Are you on any other medicine that might be causing this? I would definitely bring this up to whoever prescribes your medicine. As far as switching back to the suboxone it is what you think that works best for you and with the least side effects. I hope things get better for you.
 
24 isn't unusually young for someone to start developing male pattern baldness. Its possible that you're just starting to lose your hair. I would consider your opiate treatment to be the most important issue for now, and deal with the hair thing when you've got the drug thing under control, but definitely bring it up with your doctor. I'm pretty sure that methadone doesn't affect your DHT levels or sebum production, but I really dont know. Just try not to worry about it- shaving your head can keep your mind off it and h

Been on Methadone for almost 8 years and i got a head full of thick hair. Does anyone in your family bald? Do you wear a lot of hats?
 
You said it runs in the family. You're going bald. Time to face reality. Sorry. Don't try and make ridiculous excuses and blame it on methadone.
