Opioids methadone half life

I was wandering if what I read is correct. I read that in order to find out when meth will be out of your system you cut the dose you took in half every 24 hours. Is that correct? For example if I took 100 mg, the 2nd day it would be 50, 3rd day 25, 4th day 12.5, 5th day 6.25, 6th day 3.125 mg and so on until I got to the 14th day which is
01 mg of methadone. I was just wandering if this is correct?

According to http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/266339-Bioavailability-Half-life-MEGA-Thread methadone has a half life of 24-36 hours. Also keep in mind you don't get 100% BA unless you're using IV. So to be on the safe side you can assume half is eliminated every 36 hours instead of 24.
