Methadone dosing

I have been taking OC daily (all day) for the past few weeks. I would like to take a break, and I am going to use methadone as a tool to help or hopefully eliminate withdrawal (otherwise it will suck ass).
I have a 50ml bottle (assuming that 1ml=1mg), can anybody WHO IS FAMILAIAR W/ METHADONE and has used it for this purpose before please give me a dosing reccomendation. I have a HIGH opiate tolerance (around 300-400mg of OC/day) and I need some direction w/ this relatively new drug to my knowledge and use.
Also, will this 50ml/50mg bottle be enough for a full withdrawal recovery? And what are the side effects of the methadone alone, and in combination w/ other drugs (opiates) and alcohol?
(Yes, I have done a search, but could not find anything that answers these specific questions).
Please, nobody answer unless you have personally used it for this reason, not just in effort to get high-thanks y'all.......

Yes yes, benzos are great for oxy detox. They are cheap and usually much easier to get ahold of than methadone. They will only do a little for the body aches but they'll completely take care of the mind fuck that you will no doubt go thru.
300 to 400mg of oxycodone per day is a huge dose comsidering you have only been at it for a few weeks. You are definately gonna go thru hell. Also, you are definately a candidate to get methadone perscribed.

A few questions...
1) Exactly how long have you been taking Oxy in that dose range? If you have only been at it for a few weeks then you will suffer, but it will pass and you will be fine in a few days...
2) What is the strength of the methadone? 1mg/mL? I don't know if thats accurate.. if you only have 50mg it wont do much aside from take the edge off..

Thanks for the replys guys. I started about 3-4 weeks ago with a 100mg/day then worked my way up to a 400mg/day intake of OC (something to really be proud of huh, like it is an achievement or something?)...
I am a little nervous and to be honest quite scared of taking this on.. Withdrawaling from opiates is very hard, and I feel like if I can do this, then I can achieve anything in life. I have a bottle of methadone, not exactly sure of the dose, but I was told it was around 1ml=1mg. With this, I will do as the previous replied stated, 25mg/day1-15mg/day2-10mg/day3.
I also have about 100 5mg Hydros and about 25 t4's.
My question: If the methadone is not doing the job, it is safe/OK to take the hydro's or even perhaps some OC during the day w/ the meth? How will the meth affect the effects of the hydro/oxy/codeine??
Again, any educated replied and personal experiences only. Thanks again y'all.....

You should NOT assume it's 1mg/ml. For example, the standard concentration over here is 22mg/ml...

Being a methadone patient myself,and understanding the ramifications of embarking on a D.I.Y detox,i am not willing to give you advice on dosing,its such a sensitive area,it would be dangerous for you to take the advice of anyone here,and literaly just go ahead with there suggestion.
All i can say is think carefully about it,and understand that methadone is by no means a cure.
I hope you didnt think i was being condesending or patronising at all,im just worried for you,and can see that undertaking something like this needs professional medical advice.

to answer youre question 'is 50mg enough for a full withdrawal recovery'?,No,it isnt,in my opinion,going by what youve said about the extent of youre addiction.
Also,youve already decided to go for the slow reduction route,why not do the same thing with the O.C's instead?It'll probably be easier,or at least the same,then the methadone route.

Alright guys-thanks again for all the helpful info and replys, I appreciate it. I don't want this post to turn into a 'dark side' thread, but instead be used as a tool for info for others like me in my shoes....
I got the bottle (rather small/pinkish/red in color w/ a white cap and nothing on it) from a friend I met from the wonderful BL. Anyhow, he told me that it was 1ml=1mg, BUT wasn't sure of it because from his experience the dosage differs from time to time.
I am going to start slow, and be careful w/ my dosing (I am usually pretty repsonsive to the effects of a drug quickly). And of course I can self medicate w/ the Hydros or even some OC along the way as needed. I understand that this will be a rough ride, but ai have done this in the past under similar circumstances w/ speed, GHB and opiates, so I am no rookie to withdrawal, but i am a rookie to methadone and that is why I seek your help...
Unlike most people, I get super AMPED from OC, so when I don't have them, I feel very lethargic, and also very unmotivated. benzos will not help me in this sitaution, but instead make me feel like MUD and even more tired. I usually use caffeine or ephedra to pick me up.....Will the methadone give me a similar 'boost'? Or will it sedate me??
I live a very productive lifestyle, and work a full time job, and simply will not go to a detox for those reasons and others-just wouldn't work in my situation. I also feel like I can take this on by myself w/ the tools/meds I have to ease the pain.

Yes, I do have an addictive personality, and tend to get 'carried away' w/ things including opiates which in-turn cause a bad withdrawal, but I do know when to 'say when' on my own.......
