Opioids Methadone dosing frequency

Anyway, with drugs like methadone or buprenorphine, I'd say using once a week is the most sure fire way to not raise your tolerance (and you can't be using other narcotics either). I'm pretty sure with bupe, it actually takes 12 days for the body to eliminate any trace of the drug, and I imagine it would be similar with methadone, so if you really want to get back to baseline, use 2x a month, and you can probably get away with using some weaker opioids too (hydrocodone comes to mind)

Yea, while we are in agreement about methadone dosing, I would also agree with you that bupe wouldn't be really safely used. Not necessarily 12 days, but certainly more than 7.

I don't think the OP is ANYWHERE near the point of needing to be on any sort of opioid maintenance. I'm pretty sure that would be disastrous for him/her, causing waaaaaay many problems than the OP already has.
 
methadone is very ideal for withdrawl and getting a nice buzz when ya aint got the opiates of ur choice. when i take a good dose of methadone, im HIGH all day, and SICK FREE for 72 hours due to the long half life, i start to feel withdrawl at about that point, day 3. so if i take methadone now (example:saturday, i wont feel sick again until tuesday) dose permitting dont forget. i usually take 80mgs.

Relatively mild, but still..... half the symptoms listed on wikipedia I can "check off" pretty easily at the moment. Not fun.

To give a picture/recap, I took:
3/24: 22.5mg
3/27: 25mg
3/30: 25mg

And nothing since.

And before 3/24 I hadn't done it for over a week. So I'm now experiencing withdrawal symptoms from just those three uses about three days apart. I'm never going to dose so frequently again, that's for sure! Even just two doses 3-4 days apart is probably pushing it.

I wasn't really expecting withdrawals from such little use, but I guess that says a lot about methadone's power.

Yup, methadone can be a powerful little beast. especially when taken daily, it definitely can build up in your system unlike most other opioids, so when it does come time to w/d they kinda suck. glad to hear you're still with us!

Yeah that's true, I guess I was referring to PAWS, not the WD itself. I think opana gives me the worst acute WD out of any opiates, tied with fentanyl.
 
Bupe/methadone, as Zn3g states, and you agree Tricomb, certainly are looonger in terms of the stages of w/d, but I would also have to say the acute w/d are significantly more mild (especially if the drugs are taken properly) than other full agonists like heroin, etc. etc.
