Methadone and Exercise

Hello All,

I've been on methadone for over 10 years. I was up to 125mg, but I'm currently down to 78mg. I did with very minor discomfort. I'm going to stay at 78 for a little bit, for various reasons.

I'd like to start doing some exercise, but I'm thinking that raising my metabolism could cause my dose to lose its effectiveness. Raising my dose will cause the clinic to stop my carries, and I don't want that.

Anyone out there had any experience with this? I've been largely sedentary since I've been on this stuff :)

Thanks in advance for any info.

Exercise will probably make you feel better, but I have no idea if it will accelerate methadone's metabolism and thus reduce its half-life.

Moving this to NsPD.

It may increase your mtabolism slightly, but methadone has a really long half life either way.

Getting your endogenous opioid system working properly again will be much better for you in the long run anyway. And you'll get chiselled doing it ;)

theres no way i could have done any exercise when i was on 55ml daily i couldnt wven wear normal clothes the slightest bit of exercise even a walk to the shop id be drenched in sweat my back was almost constantly soaked and it became a nightmare cutting down to 30 ml was the best thing idid i still get occasional hot flashes but i been a slave to opiates for years nowi know its a bit of topic il start a new thread about meth sweats if theres not 1
