Opioids Methadone and a little Valium

Hey all,

Quick question. On day 3 of a 7-10 Methadone detox to kick Oxy. Been going great so far. Using a sliding scale Done dose reduction. Friday 30ml, Saturday, 30ml, Sunday 30ml and downwards from there once I get over the first 3 days. Question is, though I've read about dangerous interactions of Methadone and Benzos, wanted to hear what BL's had to say if I was to take the edge off with 4-6 mg of Valium afterdoing a 20ml dose of Done at 9:00 am EST, and another 10 ml at 8:00 pm EST today?

Old Oxy habit was 80 - 240mg day for almost a year. Never really played with the Benzos just have them around for end of next week when I plan to jump off the Done.

Benzos and methadone will increase cns depression. 4-6mg diazepam does not seem a high enough dose to cause complications.

I would save the valium for the end of the detox when you will be needing it more. If you use it now it may be less effective when you are done with the methadone. You should be fine taking 4-6mg of diazepam now, but personally I would just save it for when things get really uncomfortable at the end of the 7-10 days.
