Why did you put links to drugs-forum? :ROFLMAO:
You couldn't pay me to go to that site.
Oops. I am a member of DF for five years now. I posted this over there and then copy and pasted it for here. I didnt know the links were gonna do that haha.
I'm new here and I like it here, but I am loyal to DF.

The way OP frames this is a bit illogical. It feels like a kind of Puritan take on drugs that sits a bit uncomfortably with the vibe of BL (and especially of Drug Culture).

Surely, you should have the pros and cons of BOTH sides of the argument. The pros and cons for sobriety and the pros and cons for meth. Lots of people here think there are downsides to sobriety and upsides for meth.

Personally I found the pros of sobriety outweighed the cons of meth but I still reckon meth has quite a few things going for it if used sensibly by people with the ability to handle it.

Meth definitely has pros if used correctly.

I do believe there are a large majority of people on here that are recovering addicts that no longer do meth and will agree with everything I posted. And I know there are alot of meth users that will still agree with the cons I listed because they know the ugly truth.

I'm certainly not trying to mess with any vibe that's going on here. I was comfortable posting this because I know there are people out there that would agree and relate to it, also. I know I'm not that far out in left field.

Yes, pros and cons of both would of been a cool post too. But my intention of this thread was to support sobriety.

I used meth daily for the last six years and I know there are plenty of pros to it. I made this list in the middle of a relapse after 15 months of sobriety. I felt guilty for relapsing and regretted it so bad. I thought of all the negative shit that came along with doing dope and asked myself was it really worth it? I compared the positive life I was living when sober, to all the hell that comes along with doing dope. It was my way of reminding myself later down the road not to use when I'm craving it because I wrote when I was high.

In that case, maybe the thread is better suited to one of the Recovery Support Forums. Drug Culture is a bit more open to the pros I think.
I actually didn't post it here. I posted it under stimulants and the first guy that commented on it said he was getting it moved to drug culture. So here I am, looking like a newbie dumbass lol.

It’s okay to prefer sobriety over doing meth, but this post is about as biased as biased gets. There are obviously pros to doing meth, or else nobody would do it. Therefore, there are cons to sobriety as well. This would be more discussable if there was some counterpoints in the OP. I don’t really want to go on a ramble about the pros of doing meth because obviously you are either in recovery or wanting to be. So this would be better in the recovery forum, I know this isn’t your choice where it was put.

As to what you said about the majority here being in recovery, that’s not the case. There are a number of users here who are sober, but this is a harm reduction forum and a place where some pretty adamant use can be discussed in the majority of the sub forums. Recovery is a part of all that, the ultimate harm reduction I guess. We’re also prodrug and promote educated and proper use, staying safe.

Id say honestly, the majority of users are active addicts, or at least drug users. Much of the talk here is pretty enthusiastic about using, albeit the goal is (supposed to be) to reduce the harm.

No, what I said was I'm guessing there's a large majority of recovering addicts on here. I was not implying that there are more sober people than drug users. I just know there are people out there that know how bad meth is for you. This post wasn't suppose to be saying meth is good, therefore no pros were mentioned. I wrote this in the middle of a emotional relapse. I was only comparing my sober life to my meth life, and I pointed out all the bad things because I wanted it to be a reminder not to use again down the road.
I know most of the people here are users. I'm a user tonight. I'm struggling with staying sober. I have nothing against meth users and agree there's plenty of pros. I wouldn't be high right now if I didnt think that.
I think everyone has just misunderstood what I was trying to communicate. And it doesn't help that it got posted in the wrong forum.

The monotony of day to day life and social interactions when not using is brutal, especially in hindsight. I've always had an allergic reaction to boredom, and small talk does not come easy to me, so meth is an obvious choice.

It’s fine @Pinkbeam there’s nothing inherently wrong with what you’re trying to commnicate. Were the ones getting mixed up really, you’re new too. Maybe PM a moderator to have it moved, or report your OP and request it be moved there I *think* is an appropriate way it can be done as well.

Here’s my main pros for sobriety and cons for meth. I’m a meth addict too.

Sober Pros

Not high at work
Not dependant on a harsh chemical drug
Physical health improves
No psychotic symptoms, in time after quitting
Easier to manage life, so long as I stay vigilant (get major depressions sometimes)
Medications easier to manage and work better
No hiding track marks
Better focused on my real projects and school
No feeling I’m having to hide a huge part of my life using from anyone
No crash and burn cycle, better more regular sleep
Less time using is more time doing anything else
Less damage to my heart, already have defective valve
Immune system isn’t compromised so much, have autoimmune disease
Less shame
Less fear
Less uncertainty
Can keep my relationship, it’s at risk right now due to using
Can have a stable life

Cons to Meth

High at work
Dependant on a drug day in day out
Deteriorating physical health
Prone to psychoses
Scatterbrained and too busy using to manage life properly
Barely take my meds
IV use fucking up my arm and sometimes hands
Not as focused on my real shit I need to do
Hiding my use
Up most of the time most days and crash hard some days
Cardiovascular and immune health better
Ashamed
Afraid
Uncertain
Relationships deteriorate
Unstable life

Most of all I lose sense of myself. It makes me a completely different person in my head as I battle this psychotic disorder which only occurs with meth abuse for me, maybe with alcohol I can get something similar to a degree in a different way (I’m an on/off alcoholic too). It’s a struggle to maintain my sense of who I really am and what I really think when I’m messed up on hard substances like this, but especially meth. Meth is the most fucked up and scary thing Ive ever been through and yet I use it around the clock. When it works it works but when it doesn’t, my entire life is absolutely terrifying. I hate being this way, can’t think properly can’t just be me I have to contend with this self induced presence or a few in my mind which are totally fucked.

What about the Pros of doing meth???

Weight loss (if you are struggling with obesity and couldn't seem to lose weight at all)

And that's about the only thing I can come up with lol

Amphetamines make me want to draw and paint and write. So I guess you could say motivation to do recreational/expressive activities.

Amphetamines and meth particularly have also been valued for their ability to enhance one's public speaking ability.

I mean look at JFK. Look at Hitler. Not that I admire Hitler I'm just sayin.

I also agree you should be honest and do this assignment 100% to completion - meaning you should also write out the pros of using meth and the cons of being sober. Not to be negative, but I just like to see the whole picture of things. Chances are you'll still find sobriety worth it and the pros of meth do not come close to outweighing the pros of sobriety, and the cons of sobriety are manageable.
