I'm alive so I guess I'll survive
A bloke I knew bought quantity of ice ( well that's what he was told anyway). Got the stuff home and realised it wasent smokable at all, he then decided to mix msn ( im still slightly unsure what this stuff is) with it, then put it in the microwave.
I'm not exactly sure how he mixed the msn with it.
He burnt the shit out if it and it still wasn't smokable ( which to me makes sense.)

To me this seems completely stupid, he didn't even do a trial run to see what would happen. He dumped the whole lot in, which was plenty, trust me ;-).

What had he done to that shit, completely fucked it? I understand that it could probably eaten to get a desired effect, but would it have lost potency (not just to the fact that it was cut, but moreso would this have damaged the methamphetamine.) It looked all brown with large reddish rocks in it after he cooked it. Could this also make it more harmful for consumption?

Just another quicky, I'm having trouble understanding what msn is, could someone point me in the right direction? Safe to smoke?

Okay well first off.... I believe you are talking about 'MSM' which is a chemical called methylsulfonylmethane. You can read a bit more about it here and here. This chemical is actually used as a cut which leads me to...

My second question(s), so your friend mixed msm into his methamphetamine? That IS THE CUT people use. So, he basicly cut his already cut meth? THEN baked it in a microwave? Methamphetamine is extremely sensitive to heat, had that been and larger amount he could have blown his microwave up.

I think you should tell your friend to trash that shit and better luck next time. Also, I find that when I used to get non-smokeable crap and it's not enough to really be worth washing, I just eat it.

Or IV but for 'HARM REDUCTIONS' sake I never said that.. ;)

He did ALOT, and I'm pretty sure he ain't going to ditch it, he has 'plans' for it involving finances (is that okay to say?)
And again I point out that he's a bloke I know, not a friend.

I'm hoping he is expecting it to be used to eat, due to insufflation would be fairly harmful (anyone think I'm right there?).

If you purchase ICE it should be smokable. Period. At least here in Texas.

Be careful with those amateur attempts at cooking meth. More than one person has found out just how bad things can turn out - they are currently in the burn unit fucked up so bad the medical team had to give 'em Special K while they "washed" the burns.

This is what @onepot told me on another thread about the color you mention:

[STARTQUOTE]As far as what street meth is, there's often a fair amount of unreduced pseudoephedrine in there, which is the starting material. If it's orangish-brown, that often means it has some iodoephedrine in it, which is the partially-reduced form. This stuff can be moderately toxic, and if it's present, it usually results in a lot of jaw-clenching.[ENDQUOTE]

Also, when extreme heat is added for a brief or long period the dope can undo go more changes. If I put to much heat on the stuff I am smoking it turns into gun cleaner (or something like that) so nasty that no normal person would smoke it.

^^ i wished I had have seen it before he cooked it, just wondering if it was the microwave that have it colour.
Your right too, if it's ice, I thought it should be always be smokable. If it doesent smoke the street name round here is simply meth

I think he's clutching at straws, to please certain people, not surprised it didn't work.

@CB, next time an acquaintance throws some chemicals in the microwave do me a favor and position yourself somewhere strategic. Specifically, about a block away. :-)
