Stimulants Meth injection- muscle beside injection site swollen/hard

I just injected some crystal meth. I got a perfect register and pushed off, injecting into the crook of my right arm. I noticed that the muscle to the left of my injection site, the one that seems to run through the crook of my arm, became very swollen and hot. When touched it feels as if the muscle is cramping, feeling very tight and hard. This has happened maybe 2 other times, both times from injecting MDMA.
Does anyone know the cause of this?

You probably slipped out a little during your shot. It doesn't take much to cause swelling like that.

Hot compress for 20 minutes. Should go down a lot within 24 hours.

Came out the side of the vein a bit i'd say. Also if the gear hasn't been brought down to a low enough PH it can sometimes cause sites to get inflamed... That's in my experience anyway.
