hi guys, this question is targeted at those who used or are still using meth or other simiar stimulants.
Is it just me or do you guys shiver, especially the hands? What i want to know is what causes this and is there any way or medication to stop or improve this condition.or is it permanent for life? Thanks for reading and please help if you can.
P.S Even if im off such stimulants for a period of time, the hands shaking doesn't improve much.

We have a forum for health questions, just so you know.
Stimulant use can most certainly cause 'tremor' as you have described. I have not had it specifically from meth but I have had it from other drugs which stimulate the dopaminergic system.
Often the tremor or motor dysfunction caused by drug use will subside substantially if not completely with time. It can be permanent, but this is not usually the case.
To prevent the tremor from getting worse and to improve it as much as possible, you should:
*avoid all stimulants, including caffeine and medicinal drugs (such as wellbutrin)
*take plenty of vitamins/minerals, especially magnesium, potassium, calcium and b vitamin complexes; it might also be worth giving cod fish oil capsules a try -- they contain special fats that improve brain function
If the tremor occasionally becomes unmanageable, muscle relaxants and even benzos can calm the shaking temporarily.
Hope it gets better soon...

shit i got tremors from using good ole EPHEDRINE back in HIGH SCHOOL...i still get tremors BAD when i take them, bad enuff to where im dont like going out to eat with others trying to hold afork to eat..its that badand i hate it..only thing to calm them down is a BENZO like VALIUM....thats the only thing that work that in have found..
i cant imagine how bad i would get them if i took METH..
thing i hate worst about tremosis that most people see that an they will think you aren a crackhead.....either that or they think you are one nervous, neurotic fucked up individual, but i most of us are anywqys so :)

You'd probably be better. I experience more annoying side effects on ritalin, ephedrine, etc than meth.

I'm what you might call a heavy speed user, I IV a few grams a week, sleep probably 3 nights a week. Of all the drugs i've abused speed has the most detrimental mental and physical effects, The shakes in the hands also tingly feelings through the fingers are a common acurance, especially after few days with no sleep and frequent use. I can't deal with many of the side-effects and NEED benzos to relive stress and anxiety. When the drugs have worn off and your coming down, involentary tremors and chills race through my body. But you learn to deal with them, the symptons are there in everyone I use with. So don't worry. I'd say from heavy use your heart cop's most of the stress, rapid and irregular heart beats are a struggle to deal with, and doesn't become tolerable unless Benzos are taken. Also eat even if your not hungry, food does wonder's and can relieve uncomfortable effects.

I tend to get minor shaking when I'm really feeling good, and I drop things more often (either due to hand control problems or not thinking about what I'm doing). However, a few friends shake normally and do not shake at all when on speed. Staying up for more than 4 days causes a dramatic increase in bad effects, most notably irritability not shaking though. THe worst shaking I do is after I wake up from a 30+ hour sleep after a nice binge. Everything is fucking cloudy, my body wants to stay asleep and the world is not a good place. Then I eat and drink lots of water and all is well. Hope you find a cure!
