Ethnobotanicals Mescaline a/b extraction troubles.

I did an A/B extract by making tea. And using xylene, sodium chloride, vinegar and the last step didn't yield anything so I've dried the sludge from the previous step and I'm wondering is that where my alkaloids are?

I followed the a/b Tek from erowid.

It doesn't look like you used any base. Also generally vinegar is not the ideal acid, you would want a strong acid like HCl. What is the sodium chloride supposed to be for?

And is there sodium hydroxide that I need to get out of this sludge?

Yes there’s likely excess naoh on your sludge... would try and neutralize it with vinegar.

Do you have a ph meter?

Jesus christ just eat it normally, it's completely fine, has higher yields since there's always some mescaline left behind, and no, you cant reuse the NaOH
