Can someone in the most simple way please tell me what Meo & bk means?
For example I love 4-meo-pcp, I am aware of the dose range & when I looked at normal pcp the mg dose range was so dar apart I was shocked.

What does meo mean & how does it make a chemical different in terms of effects etc?

Sorry to sound stupid but chemistry wasn't my strong point at school as I am sure people can tell from this post.
Thanks in advance :)

bk = beta ketone (for example, MDMA is methylenedioxymethamphetamine whereas bk-MDMA/M1/methylone is methylenedioxymethcathinone). The bk- prefix simply indicates the substance is the beta ketone analog.

meo = methoxy, so, for 4-MeO-PCP its 4-methoxyphencyclidine instead of just phencyclidine (PCP)

The effects that an MeO had on a compound greatly depends on the compound. With DMT compounds, the MeO is broken down in the system and replaced with a Hydroxy group. Example 4-AcO-DMT is broken down to 4-HO-DMT.

To further expound, a beat-ketone denotes that an oxygen atom is attached to the beta-position of the alkyl chain on the phenethylamine skeleton. "3-methoxy" means that an oxygen atom, a carbon, and 3 hydrogens (tied together into a methoxy group) are attached to the 3-position on the ring system.

What kind of example is that? :D
You were talking about MeO at first but ended up giving an example about 4-AcO-DMT metabolism..
5-MeO-DMT aren't broken down to 5-HO-DMT AFAIK and it isn't really proven that 4-AcO-DMT doesn't cross the BBB itself.

The example is actually inapplicable, and I think you're right, in that it hasn't been demonstrated that 5-methoxylated tryptamines catabolize to 5-ho-tryptamines. And yeah, there's no reason why 4-aco-dmt wouldn't cross the BBB, but that's not really pertinent to this discussion.

Yeah. I apologize. My thought process was incorrect. I dunno what I was thinking when I typed that. My bad. But it is true that the effect of an MeO group varies greatly between different compounds. That was the point I was trying to make. I dunno why I went into AcO. I'm looking repeatedly at my own post and am dumbfounded. I wasn't even high when I wrote that. Mayne that's the problem. I need more drugs. Lol. Dumbass move of the day.

The methoxy group itself can't be used to tell dosage.
As you said 4-meo-pcp has a much higher dosage than pcp, whereas 3-meo-pcp has a much lower dosage, around the same as pcp if I'm not mistaken
