in the peace of the quiet of the dark
lamps of misty halos softly aglow
leylines glimmer a shimmering path
wrapped in a cloak of night
a book of dreams in hand
in the quiet of the peace of the dark
empty windows into lives aslumber
into dreams they lived, a brief respite
one foot ahead and onwards
into the season of mists
in the dark of the pace of the quiet
silence that hangs like a shroud
i am lost but for the path
alone and yet at one
in the cirsp morning air
in the chill of the silent dark
lights reflected upon placid calm
the river of yarra
a pause, i stood looking younder
into a misty night of dreams
a tug, an awakening, a dawning
i was in love
this is meant to be an ode to melbourne, australia. i've been waiting to write this for a few monthw now, but there's just too much to really contain in one piece, so i decided to relate a one and a half hour walk in the dead of winter, when i realsed i was falling in love with this city.
i've been having a crisis of faith in myself, this is the first poem i've written in two months, possibly my last.
i just want to thank all of you here who've supported and encouraged me in all my endeavours.
i love you
