Good morning all, my god how stupid can i be?? If mela were a hot stove Id be touching it again, and again, and again. You see mela has always disrupted my 24h sleep cycle. Now what little normality i had after CT is shot to hell after i foolishly tried it out not just one, but4 nights in a row, with each night getting worse. Sometimes my brain just shuts itself off entirely it seems.

Another idiot substance that doesn't agree with me is caffeine, same deal with the no sleep but also anxiety and a trigger to drink. And of course i have to start drinking red bulls during the day to fight the tiredness, I'm just soo smart. Anyone else feel like you're constantly making yourself touch a hot stove, getting burned??

Hi neversick, nah at present I'm just an incorrigible insomniac after quitting oral opium. Though I've never slept particularly well, which might've been the coffee, but who knows?

Wow, and here i was dreaming of 7 hours again in a 4 weeks time. But 4hours for 7 months, that's NUTS! But what comes around goes around, or some such saying. I always slept 8 to 12hours on oral opium, though now even the few hours of sleep are more precious because i dream again. I better make a plan for what to do when i wake at night.

Maybe I'll take to walking around at 3am in my neighborhood with a black trench coat. It'd make me popular with the neighbors for sure;)

I hope so:) only did oral poids for a year, but dosing the latex and pods, with the constipation, meant one dose got me high for up to 24h. Of course i used more often and always enough to nod. Hence why i didn't notice how used my body became to the drug. I think oral opium is like methadone in half life. WD was certainly hell, without kratom i doubt i would've slept after my stint of 5 days awake ..

I took my last krat at2 this morning btw and quit vaping 3 days ago. This'll be a fun weekend

SunSpot - sleep gets much better the longer you are sober for. I found sleep to be one of the biggest obstacles in early recovery as your body heals, but eventually it does heal and sleep becomes easier and natural. I've been sober for two years now and I get great sleep - it rivals how I was able to sleep as a child. I do take 2mg melatonin and 100mg 5-htp, but usually I'm pretty tired already and probably don't need them (though I take the 5-htp for a serotonin boost). I've been taking melatonin so long I'm a little scared to stop, though eventually I will taper off in the future. Try not to focus on your sleep or have anxiety over it as that just makes it worse.

Good luck!

Excellent advice Moreaux, and thanks for posting on my little thread. Yes my plan when waking at 3 is to just go work out, sadly that's not possible at present with a hurting arm (slept bad and pinched a nerve in my neck).

At least it's only another week until my little trip, that should keep me occupied and give me the head space to structure my new sobriety.
