[MEGA] Sleeping on Cannabis

It does make you tired, and a full day of heavy smoking will definitely leave one very tired and likely easy to fall asleep, but as said, it isn't the best kind of sleep really (I wondered why I would feel groggy sometimes in the morning, but I see the technical explanation now!) I don't dream very often at all, it's rare, since I started smoking daily the past couple years. The odd day where I happen to not smoke any I can be sure I'll have some dreams.

It doesn't really make you tired or knock you out when you smoke it all the time. And when you're withdrawing from killers, you can smoke all you want and still won't fall asleep at night.

Learn to draw the line between taking a hit or two, and a "good night joint" (assuming we're talking good shit). The first might relax you just enough to get lazy and drift off to sleep, while the latter is more likely to mindfuck you into laying in bed, mind racing while you toss and turn.

I find one, MAYBE two hits of quality puts me to sleep well and leaves me feeling much more refreshed in the morning.

I have always had insomnia. Every night it takes anywhere from 3-8 hours for me to fall asleep. At night I can't stop thinking about stuff. But smoking weed can make me go to sleep in minutes. It stops all the pointless thoughts and makes me relaxed enough to go to sleep. It usually does make me wake up tired though.

i would say it has some potential as a sleep aid. it is initially a stimulant so it is necessary to smoke some time before going to bed. i also find it helps if i have smoked quite a lot.

I've been giving it a miss over the last few weeks after about a year of moderate to heavy use (1/2oz of polm or hash a month, couple of spliffs a day) and about 4 years of light to moderate use and now I wake up in the middle of the night quite a bit. I also find it difficult to get to sleep quite a bit.

You must incredibly happy you found weed!
I used to have a problem with insomnia too but it's gone - for now.
I have a feeling it'll come back eventually, but what can ya do?

^im exactly like that. when i started smoking i would always pass out, now however i have a rediculously high tolerance(nearly half an 1/8th a day at times) and when i smoke weed at night it wakes me up with a new surge of energy and distractability. (i also have ADD)

drug effects alway depend partly on factors unique to individuals. I'd rather not puff before bed because of all the stimulation it gives me. However, give it a shot

I just have to say that you should watch out and make sure you don't develop a dependency on weed to fall asleep. You would hate to not be able to fall asleep because you were somewhere without weed. For me, it's a real pain in the ass waking up with out caffeine, and this can ruin a whole day.

One thing to add to that. If you have insomnia, it might be better to get something that is legal, even if it is perscription, as that way you can go to other countries, go on airplanes and generally don't have to worry as much about getting caught with it. Not to mention, some other sleep drugs proabably don't inhibbit REM sleep as much.

ill agree wtih 50% of the people here

i have bad insomnia so i usually have to get messed up to sleep. i used to smoke before i slept because shit, 8) it puts me down.. but waking up groggy and sometimes still a little high sucks arse, so now i will smoke like, 2 hours before i go to sleep, let the pot wear off, then im tired enough to fall asleep on my own, and i sleep better

maybe drink? or nyquil? or opium.

those are also good night-timers

I've only ever smoked Indica strains, which rarely fail to get me sleepy after a long session. Whilst I could guarantee a joint would help me get to sleep, I could also guarantee waking up feeling like crap in the morning.

This is all personal though, many people may feel refreshed when doing this - I know my friends don't complain of the same problem.

i used to just mag out and get extremely tired fast after smoking

now 2 big hits could easily cause me to have a shitty sleep

smoke .5 of GOOD dro to myself, and i'll need at least 3 hours before i even attempt to sleep

sad...
