[MEGA] Drying/Curing Marijuana

What I do is let it sit out overnight, or just dry it using my lamp. All you have to do is tilt the lamp so the bud is about in inch away from a bulb. It'll take about 10-15 minutes to make the bud dryer. Use a little caution though, the potential for a fire is increased alittle bit.
 
leave it out over night in a dry place. whatever you do, don't use heat or light to dry it out because it will decrease the potency

actually, if you grew it you ought to cure it, and if you bought it you should be pissed at your dealer for selling you expensive water
 
i always go with frizzantik's method..any dry place overnight will do, and by the time you wake up it's wake-and-bake-OK
 
Hey frizz, how much do u think the potency could decrease using my lamp method? I've done it before and didn't notice much if any decrease in potency. I figure the THC molecule is fairly robust considering you can smoke it. What is your opinion?
 
I can't get any definate figures for the boiling point of the THC molecule but all sources agree that the boiling point is somewhere over 150deg C. Thus if you could control the temperature on the device you were using to dry the buds above 100 but below 150, you would dry the buds without boiling the THC off.

Dont take my 100% word for it, I dont want you to end up with useless buds, but its worth a try I suppose.

[EDIT] After reading a few more sources, the boiling point of THC in normal atmosphere is unknown but is thought to be between 250 and 400C. Thus you have plenty of room for an inbetween temp.

i really have no idea. light/heat for small amounts of time arent a big deal im sure

you actually do destroy a lot if not most of the thc when you smoke it
 
I've also never had trouble smoking real wet and sticky weed. I actually enjoy it, it always tastes so good.

^^ Yes, a microwave will do more harm then it does good. It will waste a lot of active chemicals.

Wet weed is something else as sticky weed. I don't care if something is sticky, but I do if something is wet.

Wet weed:
1) It doesn't break down very easily.
2) You've bought a little amount of water instead of weed.
3) Taste and smoke is harsher due to unnessecary chemicals.

Sticky weed:
1) Good sign of potency.
2) Good, sticky weed will be very tasty.

I don't think the BP is unknown. I have seen it consistently cited as 202 degrees celsius.

i find 30 secs on high rapped in toilet tissue and placed on the outer rim of my 1000watt microwave is perfect.
i'm sure its not as good as slow drying fully formed bud, but my mates plant is about 10 weeks off cropping and we get impatient.
we cut off extra last time and slow dried some over a week or so.
when we smoked it we both agreed it was no different to the micro gear!
believe it or not!!!
i'm thinking you can micro bud for excellent results, and will report back when i get the primo cola from my friend and zap it in the panasonic.
 
You can keep weed for a long time granted you keep it in a dry, cool, dark, airtight space. THC get's converted to CBN over time, how longer how more THC has been lost. Noone knows how much approximately, but I have experienced no significant loss in potency with bud that I kept for over a month out in the open.

How to tell if it is good weed.. Strong smell, good amount of trichomes (crystals, resin), little leaves or stems.. You'll notice. Watch the weekly Poll Pot or Not to see some pics of good bud and bad bud. :)
