[MEGA] Drying/Curing Marijuana

it keeps it moist . my friend does it but i tryed to convince him to get a mason jar but he sais there "bullshit" ignorance ...
 
i only use orange peels when i get weird or shitty tasting weed and i want it to taste better.
 
will this kill the thc?

i have some killer kind buds however it is dried out a bit. so i took about 2 grams and put it into an air tight container and splashed it with water. 2 days later i open the container and it is no longer dried out however it has lost the neon green color and it is soaked.... i am now in the process of letting it dry out in my room.. i don't believe this will kill the potency of the weed but i just wanted all of your opinion. thanx.

incase anybody is gunna call me a weed rookie i'm definitely not. ive been smokn for like 6 years. my buddy gave told me about this to keep the bud fresh. thanx again
 
Dude, never wet your weed with water!! Describe what's on your bud? It's probably mold.

Next time put a few drops of water in a cottonball, loosely wrap it with tin foil and poke a few holes in that. It'll add moisture to your weed without promoting mold growth. Take it out after a few hours and check if it's hydrated to your liking... if not, put it bag in your bag/container.
 
It shouldn't kill the potency at all. Be careful about mold though. Your situation sounds like a prime mold growing scenario. You can try to dry it in the oven but you might want to ask one of your friends to supervise if you've never done it before. Peace.
 
man its not mold trust me.. i can still see the crystals on the bud. it's just a darker color because it is very damp..

but u didn't even attempt my question? do u think it looses thc at all when u attempt wut i did. or even your technique of moisting up the bud

also if it did grow mold do u think it would be visible to the human eye?
 
it won't loose any THC at all, and if it does it would only be a small amount, If water did take out THC then how would a water bong work?
 
of course it doesn't....water has no affect on thc....

and wut the fuck do u mean by "neon green color"
 
the color of the bud is neon green. however currently it is a dark brown because it is damp. hopefully the color will restore itself when it dries out. and hopefully no mold grows on my bud.. i'll be pissed off

Pimp, lyxweed and morbid are right, it won't loose potency because of the water.

The buds loosing their neon green colour must be due to the chlorophyl loss or something, I suspect the water soaked up some of the chlorophyl and evaporated with it. Speeding up the curing process a bit. I don't exactly know, but guess it's that..

my friend has trimmed bud from his garden variety plant...
he wants to smoke it NOW...
i think he's gunna put it in the microwave for 30 seconds then chop it up and put it in again till ready.

what do ya think will happen?
 
Don't microwave it. If ya have to smoke it now... can you wait about 20-30 mins? Pull the buds apart a bit and get a cotainer and put them in there.. Now get a magazine or something like that and roll it up and place it insidfe the container standing upright. Get a hair dryer and put it on a mid range setting and blow it down the magazine so its blowing on the buds.. make sure there's no way they can fly everywhere though... keep chekcing it every 5 or so minutes to see how its going. This is no way as good as proper drying / curing. But it beats the microwave fucking up all the THC. You gotta leave it in the mike for too long too, since after about 30 seconds or so it goes soggy, then it starts to dry and turns alot smaller than dried buds should go. Don't microwave buds that could possible be good! It takes alot to get ya stoned hey.
 
just chop it up and smoke it.. if you torch it enough it'll work.. i tried my buddy's harvest this way before... it doesnt match the end result but it's still cool if you wanna get stoned :)
 
Splashing it with water you also jsut splashed it with various heavy metals, not very good dude not good at all you can now enjoy smoking metal once it dries b ut hey itll be so little who cares right.

As for what degrades thc , Light and Heat.

If you need to moisten some bud because its too dry (which is ridiculous bud cant be too dry, if it is the dmg has already been done (likely heat light exposure) then get leaves from a tree of sorts that smell nice n dont have bugs or mould on em or nething just like a tomato plant, chuck em in the baggie overnite with your bud not in contact but near and the bud will absorb the moisture from them, thats the natural way of doing it other way would be to put a slightly damn cotton wool ball in the baggie (not in contact) with it,,
 
if my buds get too dry i just smoke em.. usually solves the problem =D

dont leave your buds in direct sunlight or in much light at all for best results.. and in the future i wouldnt recommend trying to remoisten buds because it usually doesnt work well.. usually you end up with too much moisture and/or mold
 
If your pot gets too dry you can just take a few pieces of lettuce and throw 'em in the sack and seal dat shit up. The buds will absorbe some of the moisture from the lettuce...

I've also heard of people using cotton balls (someone in this thread mentioned it) and orange peels.
