medical marijuana in california and airports

Guess im just looking to hear from anyone whos tried this out lol...

I live in California (San Francisco) and i have my medical marijuana card. On tuesday im flying from SF to San diego for a few weeks and im trying to bring some marijuana with me on the flight. (first time trying this )

I know that SFO airport, which is the one im flying out of, officially allows medicinal marijuana. I called the airport to talk with someone and make sure and they assured me that people to do it everyday and they certainly allow it, further that it isnt just a matter of employees turning a blind eye but that it is official policy. So of course i have no concerns about boarding my flight in SF with the weed but the issue is the airport that i land in san diego. Which does not officially allow medical marijuana...

However, once exiting the flight and leaving there is nowhere that i would be searched. Additionally, i asked the person at SFO that i spoke with today if i may run into a problem in SD and they said that there is no reason i would encounter any issues.

only reason im even posting or thinking about this is because i am bringing home 2 ounces of weed ( which is a legitimate and legal amount to carry with a CA prop 215 recomendation).

If i had a quad or an 8th wouldnt be an issues at all lol...
But i do have the weed vaccum sealed and in a gnarly jar and theres not even a trace of a smell if u put it to your nose.


SO has anyone done this before, if so any unexpected problems ??

I haven't tried it, but I would not trust the gov, even the state gov.
If it were me, I would leave all weed at home, eat a gram before getting on the plane if necessary, and go buy some when arriving in San Diego.

BTW, do you really need 2 oz. for a few weeks? It seems like a lot to me.

Good luck with this! It really sucks that you have to worry about your medicine, especially when your medicine is such a wonderful, enlightening plant!

Never done it before, although I have heard of people doing it. Someone I know claims that his GF's Dad took 2 OZ with him on a flight from LA to Oregon and he had no trouble doing it. I also know a buddy of mine took edibles with him to the airport and was eating them after he got through security!

If you called and checked, you should be cool. I personally would not know what to do in your shoes. On the one hand, you want to smoke on your trip and obviously bringing your own is ideal, that way you don't have to find a club out in SD (even though they do have clubs according to friends and cousins) because then you have to do the whole registration thing.Or you also wouldn't have to do any sketchy pick ups from strangers either.

I dunno man, like I want to tell you to do it, but also I want to tell you not to, just because medical marijuana is still in that gray area of limbo law. Sure you have a card, but aren't the airports ran by the feds? The feds still oppose weed so that is really why i would tell you not to do it. I just wouldn't trust them I guess, I mean I watched some new weed show on MSNBC and they were even pointing out how there are so many gray areas of medical marijuana laws and that the feds sometimes have personal attacks on individuals that they pick and choose to enforce laws on. I dunno what I would do!

This is what I would be afraid of.
I would hate for some nose-picking federal employee to have my fate in his/her hands.

I have transported up to an ounce before in my carry on luggage. I fly often and carry weed on me every single time, except for the last time I didn't, and good thing I didn't because my bag got searched (but that was in san jose and I had a water bottle I forgot in my bag) I've never had problems with weed in cali. California airports tend to not focus on weed, it is not a threat to them.
