Can anyone tell me what this chemical is?? Remember its the mecke reagent and the reaction was light brownish. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

quite a few chemicals turn Mecke brown including;
  • Methyclothiazide
  • phazoline hydrochloride
  • Oxymetazoline hydrochloride
  • carbamazepine
  • Thebaine
  • Tripelannamine hydrochloride
and these are the ones with a reaction listed as just "brown". there are a dozen others listed as "red/brown" "orange/brown" "yellow/brown" etc...

Nothing will tell you what this chemical is.
A testkit ONLY INDICATES substances.
Try thinking differently. If it does not show 'this or that' colorchange, most likely it is not 'this or that' chemical.
I do not know how mdma should react with Mecke but if yopu do not observe the expected reaction you may deduct that your pill does NOT contain mdma.

aj: MDMA goes a greeny/blue with Mecke. Unfortunately opiates, including codeine, also go greeny/blue. This is the main reason I don't like Mecke, and strongly suggest it should only be used in combination with Marquis.

how should I know? i'm not a chemist, just a interested drug user. if you really want to know try putting their names into google.
