measureing poweder with 0.1g scales

hey everyone:

i m having a bit of trouble measuring mdma with 0.1scales. buying scales that weight up to 0.01g is not an option right now. my mate was telling me this thing where u cut it with a xxxxx amount and then it makes it alot easyer to weight up with 0.1g scales. only problem is i was drunk at the time and didnt understand much of what he said. anyone have any ideas


any help is appreicated
 
SLM have you ever compared their accuracy with a recently calibrated known brand, ? IMO it would be hard to offer an accurate scale of this resolution for much under 600-800 Aus, but I could be out of date on technology improvements
 
You can get 0.01g scales on Ebay for about $100. Frankly I don't trust them, but SLM ain't wrong :)
 
When it comes to scientific equiptment, you get what you pay for. If you buy a leading scientific brand it will be fine, buy some cheapo home brand and it might not be worth the money you spent on it.
 
Hmmm... the brand is "Accura" or something similar. They're not *terribly* accurate at the lower end of the spectrum - for example weighing a single point it's easier to put the bag on the scales (say it's .33), then tap in powder till you get .44. When going from 0.00 to 0.1 there is no real graduation. But it does definitely measure those .01's when there is a little weight already on the scale.

I put you onto those scales and I do that exact thing!!!

For those who doubt the accuaracy if you measure out your "points" as 0.09g you will get 11 to the gram. So yes they are accurate. Just not at the low end. For some reason it takes a while for them to kick in.
 
Ahh... the industry standard 11 "points" to the gram, I love the mathematics of drug measurement. ;)

But since it was back in the old days when I was a drug user that I weighed out points for personal use of course. I don't take drugs any more.

I wasn't casting aspersions Sllip. Just making light of the dealer ethos, buy a gram - sell 11 points... it's like a car salesman taking a different part off each car before he sells it, so that when he has enough parts from enough sales, he has a free car!

Na it's cool. I knew what you meant. Pretty funny way of looking at the car sales industry. It would be funnier if he cuts the missing panels with plastic ones!!
