Right-o.

My and my girlfiend picked up some pills that were said to be very good. They were proven to be very good by my best friend and his s/o.

The plan was to take them on NYE, at around 8 or 9 PM.

We went to the local art gallery beforehand, and got some dinner.

In the morning the girlfiend was feeling nauseous, but she tends to feel like this on random mornings, so neither she nor I were too worried. Well, I sort of was, but she said she was cool when we were on our way to the gallery.

During our period of walking around she mentioned stomach pains. I repeatedly offered to go home and whatnot. She refused.
This should probably have told both me and her to postpone the evening. I would have been up for doing it later, but she was very set on a celebration, the little trooper.

We went to a restaurant, she ate little. Said pain was getting better.

We went home at around 6, by 6:30 she said she was feeling almost fine.
By 8, she said she was ok and wanted to drop.

I guess the rest of the evening is more or less my fault. I should have had the willpower and common sense to hold her off, but I did not. I hope to never make this mistake again.

So by 8:40ish I am beggining to feel it, she is usually slightly slower than me on feeling anything. She mentions that by 8:55ish her 'mind was racing'. I was feeling it pretty hard.

At 9ish she decides to sit up (we were lying in her bed together, waiting for it to hit and listening to Interpol). I later learned she was feeling really nauseous.

(sidenote: she is 140 and 5'6ish, I am 170 and 5'10ish)

At this point I am fucked. She gets up and leaves for a bit, I think little of it. Upon her return she tells me she is pretty sure she threw up the pill.

I have rolled 3ish times before this, and quite long ago (summer), so a single good pill will leave me quite out of it. And so it did.

She said she stopped feeling the effects by 9:15, 20ish.

I pretty much wandered her house shirtless and confused. I was too fucked up to be upset, which pisses me off in retrospect.

At 10 or some shit like that (I found it hard to keep track of time at this point, it was pretty much irrelevant anyway) I found her in the kitchen crying and eating a special brownie. We had made them a few days before.

About half an hour later I was holding her vomit bag. Or maybe that was another instance. Whatever, there was vomiting aplenty. None on my part, which is nice.
I was also attempting to comfort/hold her hand/whatnot at random intervals. Sometimes it seemed to do more harm than good, what with her randomly crying/cursing my name/ being in brutal pain, but she said she appreciated it later.

Anyhow, I begin coming down and shit, at midnight I call my best friend (who was shrooming off his ass and could not really understand me) and described the night.

Also, at some point I found a random bottle of wine in the fridge, a large part of which I promptly consumed. I am not sure what it did. I don't think I felt much. In retrospect, it was stupid.

The girlfiend eventually felt better, I think it was a while after midnight.
By that time I was borderline capable of trying to take care of her and whatnot.

Eventually I smoked a bowl, and we both went to sleep.

One would think this would be the end, but no.

She spent the morning vomiting water. I spent NY day driving around for a while, looking for an open pharmacy. I found one eventually, and got her Gravol and Tylenol flu day/night pack thing (because we concluded she caught some kind of flu, and she really wanted to stop puking).

Anyhow. She spent the day really sick and taking Gravol. She took in total ONE day tylenol flu and ONE night. This will be sigificant slightly later.

This day is basically a giant pissfest, with interludes of vomiting in the morning. Sometimes she would feel better, and we would watch Buffy and talk and stuff. Then she would feel nauseous and generally lousy. This cycle would continue on and off.
I asked my parents to make and bring some soup. They went overboard, which was very sweet and appreciated, because I hadn't really eaten since NYE either.

She got to sleep, felt good for a while the next day, then the random aches and pains, which were a background to nausea before, started to get fairly heavy.
Around 5, she started getting chest pain which brought her to tears. At one point I may have cried a bit as well. There was contemplation of hospital, but we somehow decided against it.

She recovered by 6:00, and got progressively better, then went to sleep. By morning she was almost back to normal, complaing of neck and wrist pain upon waking up. She took at Tylenol, and that was that.

Went for a car ride, got a movie, 2 subs, and some pot. The rest of the day was very good.

She is recovered now.

In retrospect, that experience was fucking terrifying and I don't want to repeat it, but it is over, done with, and all is righ in the world.

I attribute it to E fucking with her immune system or some shit. I don't really know and don't feel like speculating. I am glad it is over.

Oh, right the chest pain thing.

We think that the Tylenol PM shit may have caused it, due to an unpleasant reaction with the Gravol.
Although it could have been normal flu pain. I don't know.
The Gravol said to not take with any other antihistamines. I do not remember what the fuck was in the T PMs, but it may or may not have been an antihistamine of some sort.

Yuck! :(

Sorry you had such a bum NYE, but I am glad your girlfriend is doing better. My two cents regarding medications.... (for the future). Usually vomiting = stomach virus, not the flu, which is caused by the influenza virus. Attempting to alleviate symptoms with multi-medication OTC formulas, as you found out, doesn't really work. Most of the active ingredients in the OTC cold/flu formularies are not things you want to be taking if you are vomiting.
