MDMA turned black

A fairly large rock of MDMA was obtained, weighing at about 13/14gs (1/2 oz) and this was in september. A few gs have been taken off for personal usage


It's now later november and looking at the rock, it's turned much much darker with some slight dark bits in it. Is this a sign of the MDMA going off? Does md even go off?


A friend got drunk and licked a bit of the rock stupidly which might have contaminated it but I have no clue as to the real reason why the rock is turning more brown than usual.


Does anyone have a clue? Is the potency of the md affected?

hard to say exactly but various surrounding factors can effect this. Ambient temperature, light, humidity, what exactly it is etc. I suspect if you kept it in a very cool, dry dark place this darkening effect you describe could be reduced. You could try refrigeration also this might help.

the drunken phantom licker I doubt did much but probably ill advised. the main issue with having drunken jokers around very large lumps of MDMA I would say a greater risk would be as opposed to them making it go darker would be them gobbling it up.

depending on exactly how it was made can also effect its tendency to soak up water from the air so this is certainly a factor to consider.

im not sure if storing MDMA along side SILICA would be viable? but if it were this would certainly remove the potential water contaminant.
