MDMA Testing Question

So basically I have a mecke test kit and just tested out a MDMA chunk that I just acquired. The chunk is .25g and clear but not translucent with a tint of yellow. Anwyays, because I barely used any powder in the test, the red from the mecke stayed but the crystals turned to a black color. Is this MDMA?

The rock seems a little small but he said it was .25g and when I put it in a 400mg capsule it took up about half of it so I'm assuming it should be enough. I figured I would just suck on it. What do you think?

I can't see the image.. a red mecke usually signifies a cathinone like methylone, I've heard rumors of methylone and MDMA mixed into one crystal. The reaction you describe would seem to signify that.. but I can't see the picture and that's just speculation

That sounds like a horrible rumor........ Good luck OP, i have used mecke and im pretty sure you still want the blueish reaction as the marquis.

^ Wouldn't be hard in theory, the two chemicals have relatively similar properties as far as crystal structure is concerned. If you melted then down together and rerocked it the way to do when cutting MDMA/meth with MSM it wouldn't be difficult to pull off on a large scale

but yeah, the mecke is supposed to turn blue. Red is typically methylone or a similar chemical although there are a number of other drugs that can turn that color

I didnt mean that as in your false... I just meant, wow like thats so horrible to taint such a beautiful chemical with such a bad one... I've seen a couple of your posts i dont think id want to tango with your knowledge anyways.. lol

Actually methylone should be bright yellow under the standard Mecke reagent, and quite a few other cathinones (mephedrone, 3-FMC, cathinone, methcathinone, etc.) display no reaction at all with Mecke.

Bright yellow is all I've read from gc/ms confirmed samples like the ED link you posted, but that is weird about the red Mecke reaction. I have seen it too and wondered what's going on with the inconsistencies there. Do you think some adulterant is muddling the results or perhaps another compound is being passed off as methylone? (lol the irony) Naphyrone could possibly be implicated here as it is orange/brown.

^Do you have a source for that? I know MDA should be dark blue-green and MDAI is green, but bk-MDMA and MDPV are both bright yellow.

And I just realized we've been reading his question all wrong. He meant the red colour of his Mecke reagent, but the reaction itself was black. This in line with what you would expect for MDMA according to EZ Test. (Though I guess wikipedia quotes EZ's website as saying purple? I'll have to fix those reaction tables soon, it looks like they're all muddled up.)

Oh groovy, do you have any kind of link to the report or something I could cite on Wiki?

EDIT: Oh, I actually just wanted to know about MDxx identification. I remember hearing there was a reagent specifically for confirming the presence of a methylenedioxy ring, but I can't remember which it was supposed to be.
