It has been over half a decade since I last took MDMA. I remember very vividly some positive experiences on MDMA. In recent years I have avoided this type of chemical because they tend to make me bitter for weeks. My first hand experience was so long ago I could use some input from those of you with more recent experiences.
I recently started browsing this sub-forum again and was very surprised to read of so many people experiencing long term negative effects after moderate usage. Everything I read here gives the impression there is some doubt in regards to the actual mechanism behind the protracted effects experienced by some users. I wonder if it's possible there is some variable that is being overlooked? Maybe a single use can precipitate a metabolic scenario that changes the way chemicals already in the body are processed in susceptible individuals. I hope that in the future research sheds some light on this for the sake of harm reduction and to ease the suffering of those with idiosyncratic reactions. I am also fascinated by the fact that what ever is happening here can be so long lasting. My main question to those of you who have experienced MDMA induced depression is this: COULD SOMEONE WHO HAD THE OPPOSITE STARTING BRAIN CHEMISTRY TO BEGIN WITH EXPERIENCE A LONG TERM CURE FOR THEIR SYMPTOMS FROM A SMALL NUMBER OF MDMA EXPERIENCES? Think of how beautiful that could be. A war veteran experiences a change in stress level while overseas and comes home with their brain so hyper stimulated they have P.T.S.D. Then, under the guidance of a therapist they share a couple MDMA experiences. They open up let out some of those challenging memories while on the drug then when they come down they experience the same type of neurological inhibition that causes challenges for some except for them the change is a cure.
To me one thing is certain. More research is needed to mitigate adverse reactions and maximize positive reactions to MDMA.
