So I've been rolling this year, not too much. Just came out of a 6 month break to roll really hard (off MDA though, so it was a little different).

I've had mild to mod depression for a while now, and I think in general the MDMA helps me cope. For one, it gives me something to look forward to, and secondly, after rolling, my feelings seem to become 'reset'. Like I relook my outlook towards life, what I'm doing, who my friends are, and what I want to do.

I've been thinking though, maybe I should try something more permanent.

Are there any antidepressants out there that won't interfere with MDMA in anyway. (Meaning, I am fine from abstaining from antidepressant usage for a few days before/after rolls, but not if it will prevent me from doing MDMA at all for a significant time).

I know SSRI's cause this. How about a SSRA? I really don't want to take something that will alter my brain chemistry long term. I've heard that once you're on an antidepressant, you're stock on it for years, or life.

Serotonin releasing agents (SSRA) aren't anti-depressants - they're typically used for weight-loss. Most anti-depressants are SSRIs, which if you do decide to take one, you won't be able to roll again. It's not like you can stop for 2-3 days before you roll. SSRIs in general have very long half-lifes, which means you'd most likely be looking at having to stop 2 weeks - 1 month before you roll, which brings up the fact that this is your health we're talking about - if you're prescribed meds, you should probably be taking them.

If you do find an anti-depressant that isn't an SSRI, and you plan on rolling, make sure you talk to your doctor about the potential effects they could have in-combination.

I hail MDXX as a great way to cope with depression.
I had clinical depression for almost 2 years, suicidal thoughts, as well as a trip to an acute mental hospital.
That all changed when I took Ecstasy, immediately, for the next 2 weeks after, I was feeling great. From there on I took a regulated dose of MDXX for an estimated 3 months. Once every week. It litterally cured me from depression, and I truely would not be where I am today without the help of this drug.

^that said most would have an extremely poor response if they took it every week for three months, except POSSIBLY if the does was very very small (something to think about, hmmm). MDMA is not to be taken every week under any circumstances, as your brain is very sensitive to it to say the least.

Id not mix MDMA and antidepressants, thats asking for trouble. Id try an a.d. if I were you, it sounds like you need something other than MDMA...

I agree with above user. Dont take Anti depressants with MDMA. Try to work with a doctor to try to find the right one for you, since there are so many.

And aside from my neuro-health, I was much healthier. I had gained 16 pounds(I was fairly underweight), eaten healthier to make up for loss nutrition, and obviously, was not depressed anymore :)

if you want to rework your perspective on life permanently you might want to try looking into lsd and other psychedelics.. i use to suffer from crazy depression/anxiety. for me, the combination of lsd and mdma changed my entire life basically over night. :|

ssri's and antidepressants are just a temporary fix, and in my personal experience they never helped me enough to justify taking them everyday. :\

I think thats where the problem lies. In working with my doc for the best one, I'd rather not tell him about my MDXX usage, which is why I started looking at SSRAs, or non MAOI's/SSRIs.

MDMA has helped me a lot, and I still have ways to go. I obviously don't want to not get treated health-wise to do an illicit drug, but I was hoping there was a way that would help me keep both.

Unfortunately, if you really care about your mental health, you cant keep both. If it was something more benign like caffeine or even weed then you could in all likelihood keep both, but MDMA is some heavy stuff. If you care about your mental health then put aside the molly and start getting on track. It can help mental issues to a certain extent, but its definitely not health food.

well i think the problem is, getting on a SSRI is a lifelong commitment. It changes your personality and its difficult to get off.

I'm not looking for a one time fix, but MDMA has helped me in some ways, I'm just seeing what else is out there.

I've heard about a Ketamine regime that I'm considering. I'll post more details when I can.
