MDMA and Augmentin XR

Ok, so I read over the giant "antibiotics and MDMA" thread, but I still have questions.

Brief history: I was hospitalized in 2001 from a super severe strep infection in my leg. Ever since then, I get it once or twice a year. I go on Augmentin XR 2 tabs twice daily (That's 2000 mg twice daily). After the first day of antibiotics, my symptoms go away, but of course I finish the round to kill everything off.

I'm on day 3 of my course (So I'm feeling back to normal), and want to take some MDMA tonight for a show ("Molly" to be precise, not rolls). I did see amoxi is on the list of antibiotics that affect the enzyme, but I wasn't sure if anything would be different since it's an Extended Release tablet or what. I also was unsure what the Clavulanic Acid might do as well.

I can't say much about this particular medication (or any other antibiotic for that matter..) but I can tell you all the Extended Release is going to do is keep the drug in your system longer.


There should still be the same problem with all antibiotics and MDMA, but you might have to wait even longer to overcome it. I sure hope you tested that "molly" too... it's become an increasing trend to put the chemicals found in "bath salts" in a capsule and sell them as "Molly". An MDMA + antibiotic interaction might not kill you, but who the fuck knows what a piperazine and antibiotic reaction will do?!?!??




If I was you, I would play it safe and not roll till your off the medication, however. Drink some probiotics if you do plan to roll though, you don't want to keep killing off the enzymes in your stomach.

Don't roll on antibiotics. Shouldn't even drinm on antibiotics.
