First, I'd like to give a bit of background on my relationship with MDA:
I have done more than my share MDA in the last 4 years. I've delved into various salts, most of which unlike MDMA have been absolute garbage, barring the hydrochloride of course. I am a 29 year old male in good health, 193.04 cm, 74 kg. No health issues except some nerve damage for which I take 900 mg gabapentin daily due to pain.
My dosing has been semi-responsible. I came to conclude early on that this stuff requires significantly more spacing between doses than MDMA. As such, I have generally dosed on average 2 months apart. Sometimes 1 month, rarely less than two weeks, but occasionally. I have added MDMA into the equation a few times, but not often. I cannot recall consuming MDMA on it's own in the last 6 years, honestly it seems like a empty husk without MDA. This spacing obviously has was not adequate to prevent some level of tolerance from developing. Additionally, I have experienced transient migraines and other neurological symptoms I considered almost definitely related to use of these compounds. Dosing has been reasonable, I've pushed 400mg idiotically once, but was fine. Actually, I didn't experience any disproportionate negative effects from it. On average I have found around 200mg to be optimal for me.
On to my most recent experience about two weeks ago. Having been over two months since my last consumption of this substance, I weighed out and orally consumed 175mg in two gel caps. The MDA was of quantitatively known purity having been characterized by me. I had consumed from this batch over 6 times at least. I will try and put things in a timeline format from here for easier reading, some times will be speculative due to conditions and some information being second hand.
0:00 - 175mg MDA consumed on an empty stomach. Physically not ill, maybe tired from working a long day.
1:00 - Coming up surprisingly fast and hard. Sweating heavily, heart pounding, and some twitching in my hands, felt like cramps. Not usual for a MDA come up, certainly not for this dose. Visuals hitting much earlier than ever, head feels a bit like I'm getting a migraine. I decide to wait it out, come ups can be uncomfortable, but not like this.
1:35 - No improvement, actually probably worse but hard to tell. The high is becoming intense enough to blur some effects. Entire legs convulsing occasionally. Time to abort, not just calm down but absolutely abort. Consume 3mg alprazolam and 1mg clonazepam. I have fair benzo tolerance and this amount is not sufficient to cause a blackout for me. This part is a mystery, because at some point following this I black out. Only due to the benzos? Maybe, but I doubt it. This dose simply would not normally cause me to black out, ever.
2:30 - Time speculative. At this point I am 100% gone. Absolutely no memory of my own. Fiance comes home late from work to find me having a minor seizure and choking on my own blood and saliva having bitten my tongue and chewed on my cheeks at some point, my eyes are going every which way. I had texted her earlier informing her I was consuming this substance, she was planning to do so as well on coming home. She managed to clear my airway and move me into a position to prevent injury from spasms. I had apparently pissed myself as well. Very fortunately, she noted my extreme diaphoresis and took my temperature using a forehead thermometer. My temperature was 105.2° F. Called an ambulance and undressed me to try and cool me down with we towels in the mean time.
2:50 - I have no clue how the police were not involved in this, but apparently at no point were they present. EMTs manage to haul me down a flight of stairs and get me to the hospital. At this point I am no longer convulsing and my temperature is around 100 ° F. I am semi-lucid, but hazy probably due to trauma and the benzos.
3:20 - Given IV saline at the hospital. By the time I arrived temperature was essentially normal. I still remember very little, more amnesia than usual even from a combo of MDA and benzos which can be a confusing experience.
5:00 - Discharged at this point. By this time I was feeling 100% down which was surprising. Likely because I am physically so spent. The next day I had a lot of bruising and swelling, felt like someone worked me over with a metal baseball bat. Lots of flu like symptoms also.
This was a very disturbing experience. Apparently I have no chronic damage, but it has changed my view about this drug very much. I was previously confident because of the purity and my extensive experience with this compound, but that confidence was shattered. Ended up destroying a fairly obscene amount as thinking about the stuff makes me physically ill to my stomach, sort of like booze after my first hangover. I have come to think this compound may be just too toxic for extended use, even when used responsibly. I highly doubt I will be able to consume it or MDMA again. No need to say this was extremely unexpected given the circumstances. I'm not sure if I am just predisposed to this sort of thing and have just dodged it for a long time somehow. If so apparently it caught up with me. The extreme temperature is what worries me the most by far, although the other effects were serious as well. I'm not sure what role the benzodiazepines played here. Did they cause me to blackout? Did they possibly save me from a worse seizure? Who knows really.
MDA has been an enjoyable drug. Probably I've abused it at times, but I've tried to be reasonable. At this point, I don't think future use can be justified by the apparent risk (for me at least). The fairly long period of low/moderate intensity use has certainly killed any novelty left in it for me. I will try to end my TR on a high note. If one good thing has come out of this, I have a metric ton more faith in my fiance. She wasn't even mad that I cheated her out of a trip for one night as well as the foreseeable future
Hope this doesn't end up being too long or difficult to read. It's taken me a while to integrate this enough to type it up or even visit a drug related website. Thanks for reading!
